In a market where most A-listers are ‘unavailable’ due to one reason or the other, Shah Rukh Khan seems to enjoy a monopoly of sorts. We’re talking about stars making special appearances and performing at high-profile weddings.
With Salman Khan advised not to dance given his trigeminal neuralgia condition and Aamir and Saif not supporting the idea, Shah Rukh is charging about USD 15,000 for an appearance and close to Rs 8 crore for a wedding performance. According to sources, the latter is roughly the amount he was paid for approximately a 30-minute performance at a high-profile wedding at Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah hotel last Thursday.

I had no issues wearing a bikini but since it was during winter, I was shivering. I can’t even sit in a strong air-conditioned room for long. So it was a bit difficult and I was actually wondering what I am doing here and why I have to do it.” Sasheh has also done some intimate scenes and a smooch sequence in the film. She says, “I was well aware about it. Director Atul Sabharwal told me well in advance and I was fine with it as it is the requirement of the script. I think when we actually shoot such scenes they are very technical and boring. Moreover my co-star Arjun Kapoor has been my friend even before I signed the film, therefore I was not so anxious.”

Ever since Rajkumar Santoshi worked with Salman Khan in his 1994 film Andaz Apna Apna, the filmmaker and the star have always shared a special bond.
Santoshi made Salman do a special appearance in his 2009 Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Salman has now also done a cameo in his upcoming film Phata Poster Nikla Hero starring Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz being produced by Ramesh Taurani.
Says a source, “It was Santoshi’s idea to have Sallu in the film. He wanted it to be a surprise element but nothing remains a secret in Bollywood when the rest of the cast starts talking about it. Santoshi told the producers about his idea and they left it entirely to him to co- ordinate with Salman. And there was no way he could have not fulfilled his wish.” For a while now there has also been buzz that Santoshi was keen to make a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna with Salman and Aamir Khan.
Adds a source, “Salman was keen and has even expressed his desire to revisit the comedy but with both the filmmaker and he busy with their other projects, the sequel is on the backburner.”

We don’t believe everything we hear but we want to believe some things. Like the possibility of a film with Aishwarya rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor. We hear that ARB may give the nod to a Yash Raj Films venture, which will begin at the end of this year. A litle birdie chirps, “Aditya Chopra is casting Ranbir Kapoor in the romantic drama and he wants Ash to be RK’s love interest. Ash has heard the script and is very excited about it and working with a younger hero like Ranbir. She loves his choice of films and thinks he’s a fabulous actor. Adi’s film is one she’s looking forward to working in, provided dates and money issues are sorted out.” We hear Adi might direct this one himself. A source close to Ash denied that she had been approached for the film. Don’t we hear that always before the announcement?
