1773411 Talaash not a universal film: Aamir Khan

Bollywood star Aamir Khan knows his latest release Talaash does not cater to a universal audience, but he is glad with the response it has received.

“Talaash is not a universal film. There is a supernatural element in this film and it was a risky film to make. Around 80 to 90 per cent of the audience liked the film,” Aamir told reporters here Tuesday.

He says his next release Dhoom 3 is a universal project.

“Even kids will like that film. But Talaash has got a different audience,” said Aamir.

To judge a film, count how many liked it: ‘Talaash’ director

November 21, 2012 |

Box-office collections indicate how many people watched your film, not how many liked it, says Reema Kagti, whose second directorial venture “Talaash” is set for release Nov 30.

“All these numbers tell you how many people went to see the film and not how many people liked the film. So I feel if you want to judge a film, you can’t just take the numbers approach. It’s a creative art form at the end of the day,” Kagti told IANS in a group interview.

After the success of her debut film “Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd”, Kagti teamed up with Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor for thriller “Talaash”.

Having assisted in the making of “Lagaan” and “Dil Chahta Hai”, both starring Aamir Khan, Kagti said she enjoyed directing the superstar.

talaash1 jpg 094148 Talaash gets U/A certified, run time 2.14 hours

Aamir Khan’s fans can rejoice. They can watch the actor’s latest film Talaash with their families in theatres, now that it has been cleared by the Censor Board with a U/A certificate.

“Since it is a suspense drama with serial killings at the core of it, some feared that Talaash may be deemed unfit for kids and teenagers and hence would be given an ‘A’ certificate. However, Censor Board feels that there isn’t anything overtly violent or disturbing about the film and hence have given it a U/A”, a source informs.

This has been heartening for the film’s producers Farhan Akhtar, Aamir Khan and Ritesh Sidhwani who wouldn’t have to worry about curtailed footfalls for the film. Moreover, director Reema Kagti too is happy with the liberal stance that Censors have taken.

Aamir Khan will take a shower In Talaash , again

November 18, 2012 | 4

Remember Aamir Khan’s shower scene in Ghajini, which turned out to be a turning point in the film? A similar shot will feature in the actor-filmmaker’s new film Talaash too.

If sources are to be believed, a shower scene in Talaash will also play a pivotal part in the movie. It will see Aamir, who plays Inspector Shekhawat, get to the root of the problem that he fights against.

“The scene in question was shot in a flat that belongs to hairstylist Avan Contractor’s mother. It was a one-take shot,” said a source.

Considering the success of Ghajini, there could be a possibility that the actor feels the shower scene is his lucky charm.
