  • Rank Govinda’s best performance in non comic role
    Sahil | July 4, 2012, 7:27 AM | 18 comments | 2 views

He is mainly known today for his comedy but there are numerous movies I liked that he was good in angry emotional intense roles, these are my rank in order.

    1. Hatya the Murder (Never gets mentioned in the list of his best roles)
    2. Shola Shabnam
    3. Khudaar
    4. zulm ki hukumat (Indian version of Godfather)
    5. Aag
    6. Swarg (I loved his performance in this film more than rajesh khanna)
    7. Naseeb (underrated)
    8. Jaan se Pyaara (love him in both role)
    9. Shikari

  • Spain are Spain, they don’t need a ronaldo or messi for greatness
    Sahil | July 3, 2012, 7:17 AM | 5 comments | 0 views

I have become a big fan of Spain ever since 2002 world cup and always wanted them to achieve at a big tournament. It was pleasure to see how they totally outclassed the strong and tough Italians at the final of a major tournament. Never seen a team being beat by a big score line at a major final of international football. They have class, beautiful play, movement, intelligence, but without a messi or ronaldo like demi-god. They also showed that you can win tournaments without a striker on the field and still play as effectively, and mastered the formation of 4-6-0. What I want to say is spain do not need a ronaldo or messi to prove their greatness, achievements, or be known as a one man team like argentina’s or portugal, they are great alround ad their dominace and achievement in international football in the modern time by winning 3 major back to back tournaments, needs to appreciated and recognized. Amazing team.

  • Akshay mandates action for his films
    Sahil | June 29, 2012, 6:23 PM | 70 comments | 1 views

It’s goodbye to laughter and slapstick for Akshay Kumar. Though he tasted success with his laugh fest ‘Housefull 2‘ earlier this year, he doesn’t seem to have any intention whatsoever to get into a familiar zone for quite some time to come at the least. The decision to work in the remake of Tamil flick ‘Thuppakki’ (which by the way means ‘Gun’) is pretty much a reaffirmation of the industry circle talks that Akshay is back in action mode for good.

“He has had his share of comedies and family dramas. Now action is definitely going to hold prominence. He had started hinting about that during the shooting of ‘Rowdy Rathore‘ itself. He was enjoying the entire process and now when the film’s box office status has rose to the likes of ‘Dabangg‘ and ‘Bodyguard‘, he is pretty much in synch with the audience taste. Films like ‘Thuppakki’ remake, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2‘ and ‘Special Chabbis’, each of which he has signed in the interim period, is a clear example of how months ahead look like for him”, says a source.

Since each of these three films would release in 2013 and there isn’t any scope whatsoever for one more film to be plugged in, all future assignments of Akshay would have to wait till 2014. That may see a comic turnaround for Akshay though since Sajid Khan has already declared ‘Housefull 3‘ for April 2014 arrival. Perhaps, the trend may just get revisited two years down the line but as of now all scripts coming Akshay’s way need to carry a mandatory action stamp to them.

  • BOI have not updated Rowdy Rathore collection on their page?
    Sahil | June 29, 2012, 6:31 AM | 14 comments | 0 views

That is strange. The movie earned 15 crores 3rd week but that number is not shown as they usually update it every Wednesday, so what are they trying to do? report less figures for Rowdy Rathore so they can make London ishq look bigger once it comes?

  • Ek Tha Tiger Budget is 117-120 crore
    Sahil | June 27, 2012, 10:50 PM | 23 comments | 1 views

I have read that the budget of ETT is 120 crore approximately, it looks quite expensive project, with it being shot mainly in foreign locale, and big action sequence, and sallu even took 32 crore as his fees according to the reports. If the budget is true, then how much would the movie need to do a hit to superhit business, how much will it need to do to earn a blockbuster rating?

  • Sanjay Dutt’s action movie BO
    Sahil | June 26, 2012, 10:58 PM | 32 comments | 2 views

I read someone say Sanjay Dutt started the trend of martial arts karate in indian cinema, lol, and he is supposedly performed dangerous stunts, that’s if there are any proofs of them, and he is supposedly the better than sunny deol, akshay kumar, suniel shetty, ajay devgan, lets have a look of these supposed claims.

    Thanedaar – semi hit

Khal Nayak – Hit – Jackie shroff was also a hero in the movie who kicked his butt.

  • My Current ranking for top 6 stars
    Sahil | June 26, 2012, 4:35 AM | 16 comments | 128 views

Here is my list of current top 6 superstar actors based on only this decade, this is a non bias analysis and it will take into account only this decade and not last decade, feel free to disagree, but this my ranking opinion.

    1. Salman Khan – He has had a big turn around, after a poor last decade, he has given 3 back to back blockbusters with 1 being ATBB and still has movies lined up that is likely to do well and keeping him in No.1 position if his next movies manages a blockbuster earning.

    2. After starting of this decade with a hit Houseful, akki’s luck run out when Khatta meetha underperformed at the BO, action replay flopped and TMK didn’t perform as expected, with an average 2010, then in 2011, things did not go as well since the TMK effect, he gave a good performance in Patiala house and Desi Boyz, but none set the cash register ringing. He bounced back humonglously in 2012 after giving 2 back to back 100crore grossers in 2 different genres, one full on comedy, with another being blockbuster action thriller, both seen as akshay kumar show, and now he’s back in the top3 actors.

    3. It would be injustice if I didn’t include Ajay Devgan in the top 3, he has had a golden period this decade, by giving 2 blockbusters, 1 Superhit and 1 hit, he has had a growth of fan following and looks to be a good force at the Box Office (more…)

  • The Trend started by Akki
    Sahil | June 25, 2012, 5:48 PM | 56 comments | 589 views

There has been a lot of comments made and ignorance shown that akki hasn’t set any trend in anything and there hasn’t been a followers from it, let me get this straight, there has been many unique trends set by akki, some of them impossible to follow and some of them did set a trend that even big names srk had followed.

    Trend 1:
akki was the 1st first to set a trend in stunt related action scenes with heavy karate, thai boxing and since then there many actors tried to follow this trend, most of them use doubles and claim to have done their own stunts, but since akki started the trend it has inspired new actors like Vidyut Jamwal, to some extent hirthik roshan.

    Trend2
Hollywood/bollywood celebrities. Many have forgotten to mention this major trend, is having established american singers, wrestlers and actors in a bollywood movie. Akki started this trend well back in 1996 when he had professional wrestler Brian Lee aka Undertaker and crush in a bollywood movie, this movie did major business for its time and started the collaboration of hollywood celebs in a bollywood movie. This was then repeated with appearance of one of the biggest rapstars Snoop Dogg in Singh Is Kingh, Kylie Minogue in Blue and sylveter stallone, Denise Richards and so on. Srk then followed this trend by bringing in Big rap superstar Akon to feature in RaOne which was a successful collaboration. This is a major trend that needs to be remembered, and it has started the trend of trying to get more foreign actors acting or singing in bollywood movie.

    Trend 3:
When akki started to do comedy and gain major success, Ajay Devgan followed a similar path to get high box office revenues, the first ever Box Office success sequel was Phir Hera Pheri and this started the wave of sequels that, stars doing sequels to revive their careers, not saying akki started the trend of making sequel as that was started in Nagina and Nigahean, but i mean from Box Office point of view, PHP was major sequel hit and 1st one also. • Rate the performance the actors in Agneepath 2012
    Sahil | May 26, 2012, 10:53 PM | 34 comments | 1,242 views

Agneepath the remake of the old classic iconic BigB movie that came out in the 90s but sadly it tanked at the box office as BigB was in rough phase post 84, and now they decided to remake the movie, which I thought wasn’t bad but slightly changed to cater for today’s audience. Who do you think gave the best performance out the of the three mentioned actors in the movie.

    My Rating in order

Rishi Kapoor – He was the surprise package in the movie, the movie was heavily promoted with Dutt and Roshan in mind, but he came up with the best performance, I always thought he was a good actor was typcast in the romantic hero playing sidekick to heroines in his movies before. 9.5/10

Sanjay Dutt – This man was very good and very menacing and way more stronger than hrithik, he had that cold blooded appearance and he lived up to the character of the tough cold blood villain. He is like the hero in the movie matching and being stronger than the hero of the movie. 8/10 (more…)
