Priyanka Chopra looks like a pop star when she struts into Hollywood’s Chalice Studios, entourage in tow. Her sultry smile, body-hugging dress and towering heels command attention.
She has the image, sure. But not the name. At least not outside of India.
Yet Chopra, 30, is here to listen to her debut album helmed by Grammy Award-winning producer-songwriter RedOne (a.k.a. Nadir Khayat), the same guy who catapulted Lady Gaga into superstardom.

Shah Rukh Khan has scraped in at number 40 on a newly-published list of influential Indians on Twitter.
Aamir Khan (2) and Salman Khan (6) are two of the highest-ranking Bollywood actors on the survey, compiled by digital marketing firm Pinstorm.
“As social media grew in India, we wanted a simple way to figure out how influential Indians were. To do this we needed (a) a list of Indian entities on social media and (b) a way to measure their social influence,” said the company in a statement.
“What started as a bit of a whim a year ago has grown into something much larger than any of us might have imagined.”
Jab Tak Hai Jaan 2nd Wednesday Box Office Collections

On the contrary, Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar has picked up well and has done considerably better business than JTHJ at the domestic box office yesterday, all thanks to the increased number of screens in SOS’s kitty.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan can only wait for the coming weekend to help numbers and make some money at the domestic front.

Salman refuses to get intimate with Mrs Kareena Kapoor Khan?
Mumbai: He is called ‘Bhai’ for a reason. Superstar Salman Khan will soon be sharing screen space with the newly married Kareena Kapoor in a supposed raunchy item song called ‘Fevicol’ for Salman’s home production, ‘Dabangg 2’. But the actor doesn’t want to share any physical intimacy with Kareena.
Kareena is supposed to start shooting for the song from November 5 with Salman and the actor has apparently instructed choreographer Farah Khan to tone down the raunchiness of the song.
The protective actor has apparently stated that he does not wish to shoot something overtly raunchy with Bebo, whom he considers his kid sister. Salman is good friends with Kareena’s elder sister, Karisma for many years now and has always considered Kareena like his younger sister.
While most would thing that the no-intimacy clause would come from the newly married Mrs Khan, considering that she now belongs to a royal family, sources have revealed that there is no such restriction from The Pataudi family’s end.
The latest song to be making waves on the music charts is the new release from Ajay Devgn’s film “Son of Sardaar”. The song stars the heroes Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, leading lady Sonakshi Sinha, and a very special guest Salman Khan.
This is Salman’s item number in the film, to help promote his friend Devgn and Dutt’s upcoming comic caper. Salman fans are eager to see what their favourite hero has come up with this time, as his songs are always known for his amazing, crazy, entertaining “signature steps”.
Fans will not be disappointed, as this song too is extremely catchy, and the signature “gargling” step is soon to be a hit amongst Salman Khan loyalists, and children especially. When asked to describe the choreography on Saturday’s episode of Bigg Boss Season 6, Salman jokingly said it is an extremely innovative “gargling” step. He then proceeded to demonstrate how it is done, along with Devgn, Dutt and Sinha, who appeared as guests on the show.
The song features vocals by Vikas Bhalla and Himmesh Reshammiya. The tune is extremely catchy and the lyrics in Punjabi by Shabbir Ahmed are zany, funny and superbly entertaining.
Mumbai: If there is anyone apart from Salman Khan in Bollywood to actively indulge in social campaigning, it’s his dear friend and contemporary Aamir Khan.
The ‘perfectionist’ star of Hindi cinema, who was recently honoured for his social programme ‘Satyamev Jayate’ by the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, has apparently refused to accept a whopping Rs 150 crore endorsement deal.
Talking to a tabloid, a source said, “Aamir is now going for a complete image makeover and wants to go the social way. He wants to get involved with social causes only.”
Even the actor confirmed the news and said, “I have cancelled all my endorsement deals.”
Recently there were rumours in the film industry that director Shirish Kunder had been ousted from Sajid Nadiadwala’s remake of South film Kick. However, the editor-turned-director’s wife Farah Khan slams the reports and states that it was Shirish who bowed out of the project.
There were reports about how after seeing the debacle of Joker at the box office, the makers of the film which will have Salman Khan in the lead, wanted Shirish out of the project.
According to a source: “It was unfortunate that Joker did not do well. Even his leading actors Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha did not stand by their director. No wonder these rumours started floating around.”
Rubbishing these rumours, director Farah Khan stated: “They never sacked Shirish from the film. It was completely his decision to leave. They should not have projected it like that. In fact, two weeks before Joker’s release he had opted out of this film. He had even called Salman and told him about it apart from stating it on a social networking site. But somehow when they announced the development, they made it sound like they had sacked him.”
Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg 2’ trailer to release with ‘Son Of Sardaar’
The first trailer of Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg 2’ will light up the big screen on Diwali with ‘Son Of Sardaar’
This year’s Diwali is special in many ways as Bollywood has two big films — Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar — lined up for release, and another reason for celebration is that the trailer of Salman Khan’s much-anticipated Dabangg 2 will also come out at the same time.
The B-town is abuzz with the news that Dabangg 2 trailer will be attached to Son Of Sardaar, the movie which will hit the theatres on November 13. Salman Khan has apparently decided to launch the theatrical promo of his Christmas release Dabangg 2 with the Ajay Devgn-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Son Of Sardaar and not Shahrukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
Though Salman Khan has just given this year’s biggest blockbuster with Ek Tha Tiger, that was produced by YRF, strangely the trailer of his Dabangg 2 is not a part of Yashraj Films’ Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Salman also has a special song in the film SOS, called Po Po.
The recent worldwide top grosser list from BOI shows Salman has 3 movies in top 5 in worldwide gross.
Aamir at this point cant stand with a single humongous grosser (like Sunny wasnt no. 1 after Gadar, though ofcourse Sunny’s Gadar was a fluke, Aamir has been consistent)
SRK still leads overseas but falls short worldwide. Ah, that must pinch! The strategy to court the high priced overseas ticket didnt work very well. Lets see where JTHJ puts him, but for now, he is quite behind.

KANPUR: Police on Sunday cane-charged several Salman Khan fans, who had gathered outside Bajariya police station hoping to get a glimpse of the Bollywood actor, who was reportedly to take part in a shoot for Dabangg-2. Several persons were injured in the lathicharge.
According to reports, the incident took place after some Salman Khan fans resorted to violence outside Bajariya police station where the Bollywood star was to take part in a shoot. According to an eye-witness the situation aggravated when a kid, was beaten by policemen. After this incident crowd went berserk.

NG is an exceptional website .. the NG community, the blog posts, even the news items .. all these makes NG a unique website where Bollywood fans like me, and I am sure most of the members here come to get our daily or even hourly, dose of Bollywood news, rumors, box-office talks, etc. Many of us spend hours everyday on this site – writing and reading posts, commenting, sometimes arguing and sometimes joking with each other. I am sure, that just like, NG has become at least a small part of our lives.
I personally visit NG multiple times a day, and when a movie I am looking forward to nears release, I visit it every few minutes. Like mostly everyone else here, I take part in the sometimes meaningful, and sometimes meaningless debates and star wars. I do not claim to be a saint, and I have my likes and dislikes. I support the stars I like unabashedly and at times I am guilty of bashing other stars I dislike with equal passion. Yes, we often poke fun at the expense of a star we don’t like, and we also ridicule them especially when they go wrong, with their movies or otherwise. We are part of NG, because we love movies, we love our stars and as fans, we think the world of them. But above all, we are part of NG, because we are a community, even if we do no agree on everything (or anything).
It is however saddening and painful when some members abuse their membership privilege with an extremist agenda of hate. They hide behind the curtains of fandom by acting as fans of a star and use that platform to spoil the atmosphere of NG and spew their venomous hate on the entire community. We all know who these members are, yet we seem to have accepted them and even welcome them and their hateful agendas over here.
I was deeply disappointed today when I visited NG and saw it filled with hateful language. Members bashing stars and provoking their fans to retaliate without any rhyme or reason. For me, I think that such members are nothing but losers in real life who are trying to seek attention by spewing hate in this forum. But I find it sad that in spite of this happening on so many occasions, this particular member goes off without any punishment. While he continues to spew his agenda of hatred on NG, making this site nothing but a disgusting web forum, the rest of us are just watching passively doing nothing.

Choreographer par excellence turned director Prabhu Deva, who made his Bollywood directorial debut in 2009 with the Salman Khan film Wanted, has had a super successful career in Bollywood.
Now it seems like Salman and Prabhu haven’t had enough and will be teaming up soon for yet another film. The film in question is being produced by Ramesh Taurani.
Confirming the same Ramesh Taurani says, “Yes, so far we have locked in Prabhu Deva and Salman for the film, but nothing else has been finalized. While the film will be in the action entertainer genre, I cannot divulge any more information.”
With Salman’s dates being jam-packed, it seems like the film will hit the floors only later next year, with a release somewhere in 2014.

We have always been fascinated by the power of the unknown. Movie makers too appear smitten by its influence. Though Hollywood has portrayed [and continues to do so with brilliance] UFOs, aliens and ETs in several path-breaking movies, Rakesh Roshan took the initiative of projecting an alien in a Hindi movie first. And did so very convincingly and triumphantly. Now Shirish Kunder makes an attempt…
From the looks of it, JOKER reminds one of SIGNS [the crop circles], seems inspired by KOI MIL GAYA [UFO, alien], also SWADES [a well-settled Indian in the U.S. returns to his roots -- his village], LAGAAN [the dhoti-clad hero and the villagers strike a pose] and GOLMAAL series [Shreyas Talpade's incoherent speech, a la Tusshar Kapoor] and of course, the fav of many a film-maker, Spielberg’s ET.
Yet, despite everything going in its favor, JOKER falls flat on its face!
In 1947, when the maps of India and Pakistan were being drawn, an oversight ensured that the village of Paglapur didn’t find a place in either country. The village had the distinction of housing the largest mental asylum in the region and in the melee that ensued during partition, the asylum inmates broke loose, drove away the villagers and established their own republic in Paglapur. And that’s how it stayed for the next 60 years! While the world outside changed, Paglapur remained isolated, with no electricity, water, television or sanity!
