  • Salman- SRK to return together…
    ravip1 | February 6, 2008, 8:46 PM | 2 comments | 320 views

Apparently, Sohail Khan is working on his new script which is the remake of the Tom Cruise starrer Jerry Maguire (1996) which would star his elder brother Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. They both were last seen together in Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam. Recently, at Amrita Arora’s birthday party, Salman expressed his desire to work with Shah Rukh.

Both Shah Rukh and Salman were not in talking terms with each other after Salman barged onto the sets of Chalte Chalte to meet his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai. Later, Ash was replaced by Rani Mukherjee. But when Sallu and SRK met at Farah Khan’s Sangeet ceremony, Salman hugged Shah Rukh and they buried their differences.

Infact, Sohail Khan has already submitted the proposal to UTV for remaking Jerry Maguire with Salman and Shah Rukh. Salman will play the role of Cuba Gooding Junior (who won the Oscar for Best actor in supporting role) and Shah Rukh as an ambitious sports agent.

After making their fans to wait for so long, let’s see whether the Sallu-Shah Rukh magic works again or not. (more…)

  • My Thoughts on Award Functions

I think that the Indian award functions are flawed and corrupted because the most deserving actor or actress never wins the award for that matter get any recognition. For the past ten years Srk or Hrithik who have won the best actor awards.

here are some of my picks of who I think were deserving for an award

    Best movie

  • More on Rajkumar Hirani’s next film

After Pepsi ad, Shahrukh and John team up again

After giving us a hilarious Pepsi ad, the newly discovered combo of SRK and John will be seen on the silver screen for yet another acclaimed director – Rajkumar Hirani’s next film. And believe it or not there is more to the already great combination. The film is based on the famous book “Five Point Someone: What Not to Do at IIT” by Chetan Bhagat.
    srk-john.jpg

    On the book:

Three hostelmates – Alok, Hari and Ryan get off to a bad start in IIT – they screw up the first class quiz. And while they try to make amends, things only get worse. It takes them a while to realize: If you try and screw with the IIT system, it comes back to double screw you. Before they know it, they are at the lowest echelons of IIT society. They have a five-point-something GPA out of ten, ranking near the end of their class. This GPA is a tattoo that will remain with them, and come in the way of anything else that matters – their friendship, their future, their love life. While the world expects IITians to conquer the world, these guys are struggling to survive. Will they make it? Do underperformers have a right to live? Can they show that they are not just a five-point-somebody but a five-point-someone?’

The film will go on floor in November and will release by summer next summer. Now what needs to know is who will play the third character!!! Hmmm…yet another off beat film with SRK and John for commercial element. I have lots of hopes on this one!!!

Salman Khan can neither forget nor forgive people, who he believes have wronged him in the past. And that’s specially true for Vivek Oberoi.

At the 10th Rajiv Gandhi Awards function held at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NCPA, last night, Vivek was on stage, and had just finished performing to Beedi Jalaile with Koena Mitra [Images], when on his way out, he stopped before Salman (seated on the front row) and suddenly, without warning, put his hands together and bowed before him.

Says Vijay Kalantri, chairman of the reception committee of the awards, seated next to Salman, “Vivek grabbed his (own) ears and bowed and mouthed ‘bhai’. But Salman just shook his head.” (more…)

    Here’s a news-break and, as always, it’s first on IndiaFM…

So what is Karan Johar planning next? He has his hands full with as many as four biggies. Yes, the leading film-maker is getting into mass production of films. To start with, there’s a project with his erstwhile assistant Tarun Mansukhani. Reportedly, the film will star Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan in principal roles. “Right now, only Abhishek is confirmed. We’re still in the process of finalizing the balance cast,” Karan informs me.

There’s another project, with veteran actor Prem Krishen’s son Siddharth Malhotra in the director’s seat. Siddharth had assisted Nikhil Advani in KAL HO NAA HO and Sooraj R. Barjatya in VIVAH. The casting, again, is under finalization. Plus, there’s an animation film on the cards – the animation of his blockbuster hit KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI. But instead of humans, the film will feature animals in principal roles. This one’s called KOOCHIE KOOCHIE HOTA HAI.

But the biggest project is, of course, helmed by Karan himself. Reportedly, it’s titled KHAN. “I would love to have this title, but the fact is, the title is not with me,” Karan divulges. Also, the film will reunite his favorite pair – SRK and Kajol – after K3G. “Yes, that’s the cast I’d like to have in my film, but till everything is on paper, I wouldn’t like to make an official comment on it,” Karan sets the record straight.

    ravip1 | July 10, 2007, 8:17 AM | one comment | 297 views

Bipasha Basu will make a single song appearance in the John Abraham starrer No Smoking .

‘Beedi Jalaile’ and ‘Namak Isq Ka’ showed that Bipasha could gyrate to item numbers. Now, producer Kumar Mangat and composer Vishal Bharadwaj have roped in Bipasha once again to show her gyrations in Anurag Kashyap’s forthcoming movie ‘No Smoking’.

The interesting bit is that Kashyap had previously approached Bipasha to play the female lead opposite John Abraham in the film. While Bipasha couldn’t do the role then, she has now agreed to dance to an item number in the film.

Reports have it that Kashyap had previously thought of shooting the song on model Jesse Randhawa . Now, it is Bipasha who will play the oomph belle in the item.

The song will be shot in the coming weeks. (more…)
