Q: Is it really true that Hrithik Roshan’s debut Kaho Na Pyaar Hai had a 100% opening week everywhere? What were the collections like?
A: No not everywhere, but it did do 100% opening week in Mumbai. KNPH collected 39 lakhs in Mumbai off 9 prints at 100%. It collected 44 lakhs in Delhi off 8 prints at 86%. It collected 31 lakhs from Hyderabad, 5 lakhs in Chennai (100%) and 1.4 lakhs in Bareilly (57%).

By saying distributor UTV paid unrealistic price! They use the overall profit argument here
The profit for sarkar raj too is 17-20 crores and its a much cheaper film. So net profit/investment ratio is higher for Sarkar Raj than it was for a Race.

Salman Khan-Sohail Khan starrer Heroes backed out against Sarkar Raj

There is much speculation about the release of the Salman Khan starrer Heroes. Earlier there was speculation regarding the clash of Heroes vs Sarkar Raj. It was being highlighted that the former starred Khan parivar Salman and Sohail Khan, the latter the Bachchans as Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan were leading Sarkar Raj. Both films were set to clash on June 6th the day Sarkar Raj released.
However once the Sarkar units released the trailers, most big films started to back off as it was clear regardless of the merits films would have hard time in the opening Jun 6-8 weekend against Sarkar Raj and subsequently Heroes was moved out of the way.
Apart from the Khans, the film also stars Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Dino Morea amongst others and now will be looking to release sometime later in the summer.

Popcorn Ent. postpones release of Mission Istanbul

MUMBAI: Suniel Shetty’s Popcorn Entertainment has postponed the release of its upcoming film - Mission Istanbul - Dar Ke Aage Jeet Hai.
The movie, which was initially supposed to release on 11 July, will now release on 25 July.

Dec 29: The editor of Film and Information Weekly, Komal Nahata, was arrested last night for harassing his wife Sangeeta for dowry. He has been remanded in police custody upto January 5, 1998. His mother Seeta and sister Meena too were arrested today, but were released later on a bail of Rs 10,000 each.
Sangeeta, who had attempted suicide twice earlier, filed an application with the Khar police on December 26 following which a case was registered against the Nahatas.
Police Inspector Vilas Pawar of the Khar police said Sangeeta in her application has alleged that her mother-in-law Seeta and sister-in-law Meena had started passing unkind remarks against her father only a few days after the marriage. Soon it became clear that they were not happy with the dowry she had brought in with her.

Yesterday BOI gave article quoting on Sarkar Raj a Mahendra Soni of Bengal talking about Sarkar Raj making it look like they were the distributors . But this Soni is just rival loser. Real Distributor of Sarkar Raj is KAPURCHAND PVT LTD not Mahendra Soni!!!
The distributor pretending to talk about DUP/Punjab business is also is rival party who didnt get sarkar raj.

With Ram Gopal Varma’s sequel Sarkar Raj hitting the bull’s eye, we hear another filmmaker is planning to join the sequel bandwagon soon.
He is none other than the veteran filmmaker N Chandra who directed the path-breaking Tezaab , starring Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit.
If the buzz is to be believed, Chandra is planning to recreate the magic of Tezaab by roping in the same star cast Anil and Madhuri once again for the film. And guess what the film is called? Tezaab 2 . Now the big question is: Aren’t Anil and Madhuri too old for this?
