A. Besharam should do 25-30 crore nett range while Boss is hard to tell as theatrical trailor is yet to come.
Q. Do you think any film can beat the records of Chennai Express this year?
A. Krrish should set an opening day record and looking at the craze which is bigger than any film in recent times it has chances to put up a lifetime number which can far surpass any film till date.

Karan Johar and Karan Malhotra are on a winning track. The producer-director duo, the team behind the Hrithik Roshan-Priyanka Chopra, Rs 100-crore film, ‘Agneepath’ (2012), is back on course with Dharma Productions’ ‘Shuddhi’. It is known that Hrithik will play the lead and joining the light-eyed superstar will beKareena Kapoor.
Says KJo, “I’m excited to see Hrithik and Kareena back after 12 years.” Yes, Duggu and Bebo were last seen together in 2001, in Subhash Ghai’s Yaadein and later in Karan’s super-duper hit Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. KJo says, “When Karan (Malhotra) came to me with Shuddhi, his desire was to cast Hrithik and Kareena. I spoke to both of them and they were happy to be on board. The film is an intense love story and because it has a reincarnation theme, he has written a script that is dramatic and outstanding. Also, such a theme requires actors who can bring the desired intensity. To me, it is really an important casting. But I don’t look at it as a coup. Kareena is beautiful, talented and a powerhouse performer. And Hrithik, well, what can I say? He can melt a nation just with his eyes.”
After initiating a new revenue model where producers would be charged for using promotional infrastructure like standees and back-lit displays, multiplex owners recently introduced a substantial fee for attaching trailers of upcoming films to new releases.
With the charges fixed at around Rs 15 lakh per week and a trailer usually retained for at least 14 days, it implied producers would have to cough up a minimum of Rs 30 lakh per film, per multiplex chain.
However, in a volte-face which multiplex owners claim is purely a goodwill gesture, they have decided to make an exception for Rakesh Roshan’s Krrissh 3. Apparently, Roshan Sr has been receiving calls for the past couple of days from various multiplex chains, telling him they won’t charge him for attaching the Krrish 3 trailer as well as for displaying the promotional infrastructure of the film. A final decision was taken by multiplex owners yesterday.
While PVR and Cinemax did not respond to our text messages and calls, Anand Vishal, Head of Operations at Fun Cinemas, said, “We are very happy to promote Krrish 3. The film is estimated to touch the Rs 200 crore mark at the box office. It’s a win-win situation for us.”
Hrithik Roshan to undergo brain surgery in Hinduja hospital, Mumbai
On Sunday morning, around 10am, Hrithik was being taken to the hospital. And right now, as you are reading this, Hrithik is inside the hospital premises, getting ready for his surgery. “It is confirmed the surgery is happening in Hinduja Hospital through scopy method right now,” confirms the actor’s secretary, while taking him to Hinduja.
Hrithik’s brain surgery was decided a week ago. Since then he had been spending entire time with his children and family. He also updated all his major SFX job of his next sequel Krrish. Hrithik is accompanied by his parents and wife Suzzane to the hospital. His sister Suhana also beside him.
Hrithik, reportedly, has been maintaining a low profile past few days. He did not even go to IIFA – an awards ceremony he usually attends every year and even performs a breathtaking dance performance. But Hrithik chose to rest. The actor has also not been making any public appearance for a while. Sources say his deteriorating health is one of the main reasons for this.
