Just caught this movie. It’s brilliantly done. The narrative is marvellously propulsive, the interlaced flashbacks and episodes are seamless and boy, does it keep you enthralled…
The performances were mixed. I liked the kid actors tremendously- they were natural to the core and irrepressibly charming. Dev Patel and Freida Pinto I didn’t care for as much. [...]
Interesting tidbits on Naalu Penungal and his next venture. He also has a few choice comments on Bollywood and awards…

Well written review but pretty disappointing as I was looking forward to this movie. Looks like the wrong Sivan turned up here again. Warmed-over Merchant-Ivory is pretty unappetizing.

‘Before The Rains’, his new cross over film shot at picturesque Munnar which was premiered at the 32nd Toronto film festival, last September, will get theatrical releases in U S, [...]

Somehow a James Albert / Roshan Andrews collaboration doesn’t evoke the enthusiasm that a Srinivasan / Sathyan Anthikkadu combo would have

Plans are now on to come up with the third sequel (part 4, i.e,) of the extremely popular series ‘Naadodi Kaatru’. This one will most likely be called ‘Daasanum Vijayanum’.
All the reviews have been really positive so far. Satyam already posted the SIFY review- here are a couple of others. Lal’s get-ups and performance look pretty amazing but I just get the feeling that this might be a really earnest movie- and not in a positive sense. Hope I’m wrong. BO-wise, I believe it’s [...]

There is a perception in Kerala, that Adoor Gopalakrishnan makes his off-beat movies for International critics!
Well, once again he is premiering his new film Naalu Pennungal, based on four short stories written by Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai at the prestigious Toronto film festival, which starts on September 1.
It will be the first official screening of Naalu [...]
