"Journalist (to SRK): Salman was moved to tears during your stage appearance together at Sensations 2005, when you said kind words about him. Is your relationship going well now? SRK: Yes it’s going really well. We are planning on having a baby together " hahahahahahaha...ROFLOL!

NEW DELHI: If the small screen’s TRPs are anything to go by then ShahRukh Khan and Salman Khan have taken the first two spots. Akshay Kumar’s Fear Factor-Khatron Ke Khiladi was hailed as the next big thing on Indian television. But, as per the data from television viewership measurement agency Audience Map (aMap), Akshay’s entry into the small screen with Viacom-TV18’s new general entertainment channel Colors has been somewhat of a damp squib.
The show, which started on July 21, and airs Monday to Thursday at 10.00 PM, opened with lower debut TRPs compared with both SRK’s Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain (KAPPSTH) on Star Plus and Salman Khan-anchored Dus Ka Dum (DKD) on Sony.

ICICI Group Global Private Clients’ (GPC’s) new television commercial (TVC) features Bollywood star and ICICI Group’s global brand ambassador ShahRukh Khan (SRK) in a rare introspective mood wherein he touches upon the successful Indian’s desire and drive to excel. This TVC encapsulates the way in which ICICI Group GPC positions itself as a trusted advisor demystifying an elite client’s stated/ unstated needs and constantly striving to fulfill them.
The key insight behind the ICICI GPC advertising campaign is that a successful individual is not driven by wealth or power. S/He is propelled by an urge that is so powerful and unique that it can not be defined, it can only be experienced. The upmarket look treatment of the film is indicative of the many layers and facets of the client that ICICI Group GPC endeavours to demystify and serve. SRK is a true representation of its clients, who are extremely successful and leaders in their stream of work.

Our lensman spotted ShahRukh Khan at Mumbai’s international airport.
The actor was returning from
London, and limping heavily.
We decided to find out what was amiss. And discovered that after hockey (Chak De! India) and cricket (IPL), ShahRukh Khan’s latest new sports fixation is football.

If actor turned producer Shreyas Talpade has his way, his dear friend ShahRukh Khan will soon be mouthing dialogues in Marathi. What’s more, the film will be co-directed by Farah Khan and Nagesh Kukunoor, his two favourite directors, so it has both commercial and arty elements!
At the premiere of his first Marathi film as producer, Shreyas was present with wife Deepti, actor Kunal Kapoor and lots of unidentified friends. After the screening of the film, Sinai Chaughade, one of Shreyas’s fans got ultra emotional and broke down. The theme of the film apparently centres on the pressures of being prim and proper and looking good at all times, on a girl seeking marriage proposals.
The fan in question was one such young girl, who could relate to the situation. Nonetheless, after a hearty pep talk from Shreyas, the girl went home smiling and the actor was back to interacting with the media.
Shreyas says he’d also like to cast his friends from the industry — Amrita Rao and Celina Jaitley — in his film, along with Amitabh Bachchan. But, the Big B has already stepped into the arena by producing a Marathi film of his own. Does that scare him a little bit? “Not at all. The Marathi film industry will only benefit from stars like Amitabh Bachchan,” he says thoughtfully.

Will Smith, one of Hollywood’s biggest actors, is quite familiar with the two aces of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. However, Big B seems to have scored more than King Khan as Will says after seeing Amitabh’s powerful performances in many movies, he is looking to changing his name to Big W.
“(I) have heard a lot about SRK, Aishwarya, whom I am dying to work with, and Mr Bachchan.Witnessing his performances, I am really startled and would like to change my name to Big W, to sound like him,” Will told After Hrs in an exclusive interview.
Interestingly, Will is quite familiar with movies made in Bollywood. “As far as I know, Bollywood is the biggest film industry. I think the strength of Bollywood lies in the music of the movies, which we usually don’t have in Hollywood. The only weakness I think is the length of the films, but I have heard that it’s changing,” he says.
Will is also looking forward to acting in a Hindi film. “I would love to be a part of Bollywood. Though I have not been through any good script, but if I get any, I will definitely think about it,” he adds.
A style icon, Will finds the mix of beauty and brains in Indian women very attractive. “Indian women are best known for their beauty with brains. Indian women have serenity in their genes and that is what is exclusive about them,” he says.

A busy year ahead for Shahrukh Khan

Till recently Shahrukh Khan had been sarcastically boasting of his ‘unemployed’ status in Bollywood.
After the storm called Om Shanti Om , there has been lull for Shahrukh as far as his Bollywood commitments are concerned. The actor has been busy playing the twelfth man in the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL tournament. Recently, he had been holidaying with his kids in London.
But now, the superstar is ready to plunge headlong into work. From Monday onwards he will resume the shooting of Yashraj Films production Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in which he is paired with a new girl named Anushka Sharma . The movie’s shooting will take place in Yashraj Studios and in Punjab.
If things go as planned, SRK will be committed to Aditya Chopra ’s film for two months, after which he will take out a few days for his brief but significant role in Red Chillies Entertainment’s Billoo Barber .

Shah Rukh Khan is working with Anubhav Sinha on a film in which the superstar is playing a superhero. But currently both are working on an animation film, the script for which is nearly complete.
“The animation film is coming along quite well. SRK is taking keen interest in the way the film is shaping up. He personally looks at the minute details of the film as he is using a large amount of SFX. It will surely be one of the high budget films of 2009. I really can’t specify the budget but this is both mine and SRK’s dream project,” says the director.
The excited director is all praise for SRK. “It is remarkable to see the way Shah Rukh is involved with the project even as he is busy shooting for his other films. The man has so much energy. Now we know why he is called King Khan. The pace at which he is working I’m sure our animated film will be finished by the end of this year.”
Anubhav’s earlier project Tum Bin and Dus didn’t do too well at the box office so we hope this animated film will bring some cash to his name.

They’re the talk of the town. Reporters follow up every small story associated with the newcomer and the paparazzi go click click at every picture opportunity. Big interviews, lavish launch parties and then the night of the premiere. The verdict is out: she works, she doesn’t. He’s hot, he’s cold.
It’s a volatile industry for newcomers. And expectations are higher if the newcomer comes from vintage Bollywood wine. Deepika Padukone is an exception though she does have a celebrity father, former badminton player Prakash Padukone.
And her launch pad was a dream too Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Here’s a look at star kids who debuted over the last two years to set off heat waves and cold waves. Really.
Ranbir Kapoor
Scale: Hot!
Debut: November 2007 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya.
Status: One film down, two to go.
Lineage: Rishi and Neetu Kapoor’s son. Also the great grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor, and grandson of actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor. His debut film opposite Sonam Kapoor failed to kick a** at the box-office but his acting was appreciated. He is dating actress Deepika Padukone.

NRIs lap up desi film fare with a difference
29 Jun, 2008, 1636 hrs IST,Meena Iyer , TNN
MUMBAI: Just like the rickshawwallah only showed a penchant for Bollywood’s songdance fare, the NRI audience couldn’t get enough of the mustard fields of Punjab, with Yash Chopra and Karan Johar being happy to oblige. However, recent trends indicate that a shift in videsi taste. Earlier this month, Sarkar Raj debuted at No 11 at the US box-office , almost breaking into the Top 10, a tough act considering the size of the market (the UK top ten is much easier).
In its first three days it collected $642,543 according to Nielsen and has tilled over a million. In the UK, the film debuted at No 8, collecting approximately 200,000 pounds on the first weekend. Previous hits in the last six months are Taare Zameen Par (Rs 19 crore); Jodhaa-Akbar (Rs 20 crore) and Race (Rs 16 crore).

Finally, the rumours about the alleged rift between Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar will be put to rest. This time duo will be coming together to woo Katrina Kaif in producer Param Jeet Singh’s London Dreams.
Akshay, who has replaced Ajay Devgan in the film will be paired opposite Katrina who joined the team replacing Priyanka.
It was Salman Khan who came up with the idea of reviving the project, which was shelved by Rajkumar Santoshi. Now, it will be directed by Vipul Shah. Param Jeet Singh who has already lost 10 crore for the movie, says, “I must thank Salman for his genorosity in helping me revive this project. Now Vipul will be directing London Dreams. Vipul has already spoken to Akshay and Katrina. Now we are waiting for the actors’ dates to match. I’ll get a clear picture within four-five days.”
London Dreams is based on the Hollywood musical Amadeus; the story revolves around two friends who want to rule the Asian underground music in UK. According to sources, the reason behind shelving the project was due to differences between Singh and Santoshi.

When the ghosts come after you… who are you gonna call? Well Salman Khan of course… because it’s only he that can scare them away.
The Indian remake of the Hollywood hit Ghostbusters is all set to be made, and Salman Khan will star. Sanjay Dutt and Riteish Deshmukh will be other two hapless spirit-hunters. Sanjay Dutt will be producing the film too. Ghosh, who is currently making Alladin, will direct the film.
Sanjay is an avid fan of the original Ghostbusters film, and this was the first film he wanted to remake, as soon as he set-up his production company. Sanjay has many other ideas planned, most of them remakes of Hollywood classics, and will bring them to light as and when.
Apart from this untitled film, Sanjay Dutt Productions will launch another two films within weeks. Soham Shah will direct one while Munna Bhai director Rajkumar Hirani the other.

“I don’t like America; I love London as I feel at home there,” Shah Rukh Khan gushed when I asked him why he visits the British capital so frequently. “People say English people are very cold and not friendly but I find them amazingly warm,” Khan added. His British fans will get a chance to meet the superstar yet again when he attends the Zee TV Carnival in London next week. Khan is excited about his return: “I love walking in London and meeting the people.”
“To me London is the hub of the world and anyone doing well there is a top notch achiever to me,” Khan stated. “I am not talking about Mr Mittal or Monty Panesar but about every Indian, Pakistani, and Sri Lankan who is there. I love the fact that another country like England has opened its arms and invited us with so much love.” Is he planning on moving to his beloved city? There are rumours that he has bought a house in the trendy Primrose Hill suburb. “We are not allowed to buy a house in London but I am planning to open an office there to start making films with English technicians,” Khan revealed.
The King Khan remains in the news. After dominating the big screen for over a decade, Khan has decided to further conquer the small screen. After hosting the Indian version of Who wants to be a Millionaire, he has just signed up to a new TV show. Khan will host the Indian version of the US reality show Are you smarter than a 5th grader, in which adult contestants will be grilled on subjects by bright kids.

Are you satisfied with your first baby, Heyy Babyy?
I am completely happy with my first film but I wish it did better. I was expecting it to be the top three films of all times but it did come in the top 10 films of all times. Which is again a record because no other director’s first film has featured in the top 10 films of all times.
Looking back, do you wish you could done some scenes better in Heyy babyy?
I should have put in some more comedy but I am completely satisfied with the result. I also feel I could have worked a little harder on Vidya’s clothes because certain sections of the media didn’t like her looks very much. May be it was my fault and I take up the entire blame.
How do you compare Heyy Babyy with other Akshay Kumar hits?

Amar Singh names his new bungalow ‘Aishwarya’
LUCKNOW: Besides a proposed girls college in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh’s new home in Lucknow too has been named after Bollywood actress and his friend Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
This came to light when Singh took the Bachchan family to his recently built plush bungalow in the Uttar Pradesh capital’s upmarket Vipul Khand of Gomati Nagar on Saturday night.
Amitabh Bachchan and his entire family were driven from the Lucknow airport straight to Aishwarya, where they had dinner and spent the night.
When a reporter confronted Singh with a query about the name of the house, he shot back, “Abhishek is like a son to me and Aishwarya my daughter-in-law, so what if I have named my house after her and what if I decide to even gift this house to her?”
