New Delhi: As a general rule Akshay Kumar doesn’t work on a Sunday, but he broke it to finish shooting of Milan Luthria’s ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2′.

Seven years ago the 45-year-old, also known as Khiladi Kumar, decided that he will not work on a Sunday and devote it to his family.

Last time Akshay worked on a Sunday was when he was shooting for Priyadarshan’s ‘Bhagam Bhag’ in 2006.

Akshay Kumar shoots on a Sunday after 7 yearsAkshay Kumar broke his Sunday rule to finish shooting of \’Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2\’.

“Milan was not well, due to which the shoot was delayed for three days. So Akshay agreed to work on April 7 (Sunday) to make up for the lost time. Since this is the film’s last schedule, the makers can’t push it any further,” said a source.

“The permission and availability of the shooting venue (at Ballard Estate in south Mumbai) is also a constraint,” added the source.

Akshay and co-stars Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha started shooting at 7 a.m. on Sunday. They worked till the sun went down.

Confirming the news, Luthria said: “Yes, I have asked Akshay for a big favour (by making him work on a Sunday). But what we shot on April 7 is a interesting sequence. I haven’t told him yet, but I need him to work next Sunday too.”

The upcoming movie is a gangster romantic thriller, a sequel to 2010 hit “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai”.

It is being produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor and is scheduled for an Aug 8 release.

the shoot took place just opposite to my office on J.N Herdia street (having Voltas House, L&T house and Raymonds main show room), Bellard Pier.

    Alfa.One,

Where is this JN.Herdia Street exactly?

Where do you live in Mumbai?

Serenzy – My office is in Bellard estate (or Bellard Pier). J.N. Herdia street is just opposite to Bombay port or 5 minutes walk from G.P.O. If you come from G.P.O and move towards Colaba taking the street by the side of sea, after driving 3 minutes, on right side is J.N Herdia street.(Behind Reliance head office.)

    I live in carter road.

@serenzy – bombay mein har jagah slums bhi hoti hain aur multi crore apartments bhi (bunglows bas kahin kahin hote hain wo bhi chhote chhote). so caretr road par bhi slums milenge aur saki naka mein bhi multi crore penthouses. so there is no exclusive posh area in mumbai, though some streets/enclosures (like pali hill, lokhandwala) etc can be exclusively posh.

not to suggest alfa.one is not living in a posh area. just abt mumbai.

not to suggest alfa.one is not living in a posh area. just abt mumbai. i think its really a ‘socialist thing’ abt mum and it discourages delhi style snobbery.

@serenzy – in all probabilities shooting may take place again this sunday and to keep continuity they may use the same place for shoot.

I too like promenade specially in the evenings but hardly find time due to work hrs. and travelling in the evening from office to home.

come directly to CST and then to Bellard pier, very easy.
