The National Award fixation controversy:

Known for his power packed performances, Ajay Devgn has always scored real high when it came to analyzing acting credibility and versatility. Much so, his effective portrayal in the political drama Gangaajal accredited him with numerous accolades and critical acclaim. Showered by all the thunderous applause, Ajay also received a National Award for his enigmatic screen presence in Gangaajal. But it was director Adoor Gopalakrishnan who raised quite some eyebrows by clearly stating that Prakash Jha, the director of Gangaajal and the head of the jury took a biased decision by handing over the Award to his muse, Ajay Devgn.
