First Look: Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s P.K.

Rajkumar Hirani shares a laugh with Sanjay Dutt and Aamir Khan on the streets of the picturesque town of Mandawa, Rajasthan, where the trio is shooting PK—a political satire scheduled for release this Christmas. The film will see the coming together of two of Hirani’s favourite actors—Aamir, with whom he had worked in 3 Idiots and Sanjay, who has been his Munnabhai.

So far, it has been an interesting and eventful shoot. Only last week, Sanjay’s wife Manyata paid a surprise visit to the sets with the kids to celebrate their wedding anniversary. However, with the family returning to Mumbai, the actor is rather forlorn and what has made things all the more difficult is the lack of Internet access in this remote town. We hear Sanju takes his iPad along for long drives, hunting for the elusive bandwidth, so that he can reconnect with his family back home. Now that’s the kind of story that keeps reminding us how the toughest guys are often the biggest softies.
