Dabangg 2 Collects 147 Crore In Three Weeks

Dabangg 2 has collected 147 crore nett approx in three weeks as the third week collected around 11.50 crore nett. The drop in the third week was close to 70%. The second week was the second highest of all time for the film but the third week collections were not not even amongst the top three of 2012.

The film will cross the 150 crore nett mark but is unlikely to make it to 155 crore. The all India distributor share will be around the 88 crore mark where as Dabangg did 77 crore in 2010 and Bodyguard did 82 crore in 2011 while Ek Tha Tiger did a huge 107 crore early this year.

    How can the Distributor share of Bodyguard increased from 79 cr to 82 cr
    and Agneepath from 65.5 cr to 67 cr while Rowdy Rathore decreased from 76 cr to 74 cr..!!

    The approx revenue (distributor share) earned in the domestic theatrical market by the major films this year is as follows. Ek Tha Tiger became the first film in history to top 100 crore in terms of share. The combined revenue from both the Diwali releases will be similar to the revenue of Ek Tha Tiger

    Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola Opens Below The Mark

    Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola opened to below the mark collections at most places. On average the multiplex opening was in the 30-35% range, a few properties in the Delhi NCR were better but many stations across the country were not even 30%.

    The single screens are likely to give a weaker performance than multiplexes so the fate of the film depends on the growth it can show on Saturday.
    In East Punjab the film was taken out by the Punjabi film Saadi Love Story which recorded 80% collections at multiplexes. In Ludhiana the first show PVR and Wave theatres saw a close to capacity turn out for Saadi Love Story while turnout for Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola was just at 30%.
