Timeless Melodies….

Hi friends. Starting from today, I have decided to bring this daily post titled “Timeless Melodies” wherein I will share some classic movie songs from bollywood.

The first song is Rim Jhim Gire Saawan from the 1979 movie Manzil, directed by Basu Chatterjee and starring Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee. This particular song has been sung by the evergreen Kishore Kumar. R.D.Burman composed the song and Yogesh wrote the lyrics. Even Lata Mangeshkar has sung a female version of this song but, personally speaking, I prefer Kishore Kumar’s version.

Lyrics:

rim-jhim gire saavan, sulag sulag jaae man
bhige aaj is mausam me, lagi kaisi ye agan
rim-jhim gire saavan

jab ghugharuo si bajati hai bude,
aramaan hamaare palake na mude
kaise dekhe sapane nayan, sulag sulag jaae man
bhige aaj is mausam me, lagi kaisi ye agan
rim-jhim gire saavan

mahafil me kaise kah de kisi se,
dil badh rahaa hai kis ajanabi se
haay kare ab kyaa jatan, sulag sulag jaae man
bhige aaj is mausam me, lagi kaisi ye agan
rim-jhim gire saavan

Great Initiative aman. And a fantastic choice. I love this song and its video. You can see the peace of 70s and feel it through Kishore’s voice too. I always make it a point to listen to this song on a lovely rainy day.
