1. Salman Khan :
The two biggest grossers belonged to him just like last year and is simply at a different level to other stars as far as box office is concerned.
2. Akshay Kumar:
A huge year with Rowdy Rathore and Housefull 2 although Khiladi
786 was a downer towards the end of the year.
3.Ranbir Kapoor:
Barfi! which was one of the surprises of 2012 grossed close to 106 crore nett and the presence of Ranbir Kapoor had a lot to do with it.
4.Hrithik Roshan:
A big success with Agneepath which was a remake of the 1991 film with the same name and that film had floped quite badly.
5. Ajay Devgn :
A solid year with hits like Bol Bachchan and Son Of Sardaar with Tezz being the dampener.
Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan both had a release each with Talaash
and Jab Tak Hai Jaan and though both releases were successful they
underperformed with 90 and 101 crore respectively.

and radhe won’t have salman in a kyon ki or special apeearance mamk role..becareful what you wish for

0 0its 3 years on a trot salman has given the biggest grosser of the year.he has done it for 10 different years which is the highest by any actor.2nd consecutive year when the top 2 grossers are his films.it has happened 3 times in 99,2011,2012.its his 5 th consecutive blockbuster in a span of 2.5 yrs,a feat never achieved in bollywood history.maximum ATBB’S belong to him.hats off to salman khan!!a true blue superstar.hope radhe will be his 6 th consecutive blockbuster

0 0No offence to Ajay fans, but I don’t think any producer worth their salt would pick him over an Aamir for any role in any type of movie. That’s why I find this so-called Yearly BO ranking stupid. And of course, it’s not BOI’s fault, coz they’re not the only ones who did but everyobody else and the fans want it.
They want it as if it acts like getting report cared for a calendar year. But ever wonder, why calendar year? why not fiscal year? April 1 to Mar 30? or let’s do a Diwali-to-Diwali?
Don’t you realize that a report card from one stardard to another standard through school years makes sense coz the school actually ends at the end of the final exams. The next calss everything starts all over again. But in Bollywood, that’s not how it goes. Movies from 2012 haven’t stopped running in 2013. If student A gets 60% in 10th standard math and Student B gets gets 90% in the same class, when they go to class 10, the teacher will give them identical tests to write. Well, guess what Einstein, that doesn’t happen in Bollywood. Salman having multiple blockbusters past few years, will get special treatment from not only producers, but also fans at the ticket window this year. He will get bigger films and bigger prices than somebody like Saif who has had one or two major box office disapointments past couple years,

Yearly ranking ( 1st Jan to 31 Dec Every year , as per release)These Both ranking have their own significance, and both makes equal sense in its own rescpective ways.
You said present status makes more sense than yearly status, thats not right bro, ranking base on last few years can change anytime or One actor can enjoy no.1 stays just for 1 month while other for next 2 or 3 years, so it is very difficult for a person to remember 10 years later which actor was at what status on BO. Small period is completely ignored.
so every aspect of ranking has its own significance.
BTW at the moment as per both rankings Yearly and ranking based on last 3 years sharp , Ajay Devgan is ahead of Aamir Khan. its media who make people stereotype mentality.
and rest abt producers and directors u said, bro its Srk who has shifted(intrested) towards Rohit Shetty, its not Ajay running behind Raj Kumar Hirani. Ajay 4 producers ka pet palta hai to Aamir sirf 1.
But yeas a few years back Aamir stayed at no.1 after overtaking Akshay. And now its Salman -
