  • Movie Review Dabangg 2: Kung Fu Pandey rules!(filmfare.com 3/5 star)

Cast: Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Vinod Khanna, Prakash Raj, Arbaaz Khan, Deepak Dobriyal and Nikitin Dheer Release date: December 21, 2012 Quick take: Dabangg 2 is a fanboy’s dream and wouldn’t disappoint the first comer either. This is how other actors learn to be in character: They grow beards, learn the diction, and even go around everywhere in get up. Salman Khan however,  just makes sure the cameraman has caught his profile right. The star works on pure charisma. A mere glimpse od him is enough to make his fans go into a tizzy. He’s slowly turning into Rajnikanth and your mailbox is in danger of being flooded with Salman jokes some time soon. Arbaaz Khan, who took over from Abhinav Kashyap (who directed the earlier Dabangg)

  • Movie review: Dabangg 2 (India Today 3/5 star)

Rating:    Right now if Salman Khan stands in front of the camera twitching one eyebrow for two-and-half hours, he’ll guarantee a 200-crore hit. Dabangg 2 gives you more than that, of course. It unleashes the superstar in full fury and flair. The process is manufactured to regale though you don’t miss the awful truth- this sequel is basically the same film as the first one, as the trailers hinted. Arbaaz Khan- credited here as producer-director- blindly repeats every trick that worked forDabangg, stunt for stunt, song for song and, at times, scene for scene. There is the trademark peeling off of the shirt too, in an all-new gimmicky manner. The sameness brings to fore two notions. First, it underlines why Salman is currently Bollywood’s box-office boss. Arbaaz’s

  • Gorilla’s WOM: Dabangg 2 is better than Dabangg

Dabangg2 came with lots of hype, hoopla and anticipation. The voices of 200Cr, 400Cr etc were coming from all quarters. WOM: Dabangg2 is carrying a good report though it is lower than Dabangg. The WOM is at par with Bodyguard or Ek Tha Tiger. Those who are going expecting “Dabangg” brand of entertainment are liking it. Salman’s act is getting appreciation though not as much as Wanted or Dabangg as those films had novelty factor. Here Salman is repeating himself. Dabangg2 is also getting compared with Dabangg and here the sequel has slight edge in its favor but not a decisive edge. All in all Dabangg2 is a good “predictable” masala entertainer and is true to its brand. BO Verdict: Dabangg2 will collect Rs 140-145

  • Movie Review: DABANGG 2 by FENIL SETA

Chulbul Pandey is back and this time, with more style, romance and action and yes, this time he has more laws…err…jaws to break! Dabangg 2 turns out to be one helluva ride which has tons and tons of entertainment to offer despite limited content! The film presents Salman Khan the way his fans would like him and in that context, the masses would be thoroughly entertained! The story of the movie: After eliminating Cheddi Singh (Sonu Sood) in his hometown Lalganj, charismatic and dynmanic cop, Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) is transferred to take charge of Bajariya Police Station in the city of Kanpur. Soon, Chulbul gets into conflict with the most dangerous chap in the city, Bachcha Bhaiyya (Prakash Raj) and his two brothers –

  • Is Dabangg 2 missing the Id factor?

The first two days collection from Dabangg 2 of 35 cr (BOI) although very good and record breaking for non holiday, still is a tad below expectations. Come to think of it, ETT – which I thought was an ordinary movie, sustained very well to reach 186 cr. That makes me wonder, Is Dabangg 2 not a good movie, or … maybe had Dabangg 2 released during Id, it would have scaled higher. I think the later. I believe Salman has a solid Muslim fanbase who go out in huge numbers during Id. It is probably a celebration ritual. The same may not be happening now during Christmas. Which probably might even explain why Ready with a better WOM did less than BodyGuard (and BG

  • ‘Khiladi 786′ reaches 70 crore; ends 2012 on a good note forAkshay, Himesh & Asin

‘Cigarette Ki Tarah’ and ‘Myoho’ were two stray releases of last week and both have proven to be disasters at the box office.Meanwhile ‘The Last Act’ arrived without any noise and disappeared unannounced as well. One wonders what was the real need of releasing a film in such a manner that one couldn’t expect anything but a disastrous outcome, at least from the box office standpoint. The one which did well and actually turned out to be a one horse race, albeit not at a galloping pace, was ‘Khiladi 786′. The film ended up adding around 20 crores to its tally, hence touching upon the 70 crore mark. The way film has done since it’s opening Sunday, it has been a clear indication of the Akshay
