Gorilla’s WOM Prediction for #Khiladi786 : Picture Hit Hai


Expectation from Khiladi 786: I think the promos set it right. The movie was always promoted as a mindless entertainer. The songs and dialog promos set up the expectation right, something which Talaash couldn’t do as efficiently.

WOM for Khiladi 786: The WOM is decent/mixed but more towards the +ve side. The movie is primarily riding on Akshay’s shoulder. His presence is making the tilt towards the +ve side. WOM for this movie is lower than Housefull2 or Rowdy Rathore. However success of these movies are showing in Akshay’s performance in K786. In three words K786 is a time pass movie and this is what it was meant to be.

BO Prediction: The movie will emerge as a solid hit but will fall short of being a super hit.
Total nett: 95-100 Cr. It will be a surprise if this crosses 100 Cr.

    honestly i was looking for something from Gorilla about Khiladi 786.because i always seen him very honest with talking on films and his words always get right and correct at the end.
    as my opinion…it,s brave thing akki releasing his films after every 2months.Khiladi 786 full on masala and entertainer..

    Am sure the movie is full entertainment, but with lots of -ve from other star fans on web.

    Lifetime should finish around 100 to 110 cr.

    i was just thinking if akki was so desperate to come in Khiladi avatar why did not he name RR as Khiladi returns? ….. this(k786) movie is just insult to the Khiladi series ……. and stop fooling yourself, i bet it can not cross 7ocr …it will end in 65cr -70 cr…….

    yes i agree with ranjit. though i have not yet seen k-786 but after seeing its promo,banner,himesh acting,promotion strategy i realised that it will fail in boxoffice. I dont understand why akki dont realise that people get bore seeing same type of movie . I think housefull2,rr and omg was enough for 2012.as a akki fan i am totally disappointed.

    though all people always bashes boi but again they proved that for prediction of a movie they are the last word.their number are most accurate and prediction is most precise.only their commentry sometime sucks.but overall boxoffice india is most dependable.

    LOL all big moviesar in nov/ dec have been under expectation…probably around 100 for K786…Even Dabangg 2 might fold around 130-140 crores

      Sorry my bad after hearing wom of K786 from my frens n cousins and other talks about k786, no chance for K786 to 100..
      Even 70 crores look difficult now…

      @Gorilla: I think Gorilla’s wom failed badly for this movie. bhai slightly positive wom kidher hai? mujhe toh ek bhi positive nahi dikh raha hai.

    Well I would say Tango was quite BANG-ON with the predictions for K786.
    I remember he was the first one to say It will not cross 100cr. Infact he had said somethg like It will do 50-60cr lifetime.

    It was when the initial promos had been aired.

    Great predictions Tango.

    As far as Gorilla’s WOM – looks like he is completely off just like he was at the time of ETT.

    how was gorilla off for ETT? he said 160 cr, and movie did 186 cr. Fair enough. 15% margin is very acceptable!! given his prediction was immediately next day.

    Dont go by percentage go by totals – Its 26cr difference.
    Its HUGE.

    Also let me re-iterate every crore that a movie earns after pocketing 100cr has much more value.
    Difference between first 25 and 50cr is not same as difference between 150cr and 175cr.

    So 26cr difference in predictions and actual is quite OFF – IMO.

    The way biggies are crumbling these days re-iterates another important point. ETT was hugely loved movie.

    186cr is still a big number no matter what. Increasing prints and having many holidays cant take a bad or avg movie to 186cr.

    many akshay fans here were expecting high because of FALSE PICTURE SHOWN BY KOMAL NAHTA’s ,TARANs , AND FEW MORE EXHIBITOR AND DISTRIBUTORS on twitter …

    i didnt wanted to sound negative so didnt say earlier ( i told aditya on fb this thing before the realease only ) but RR ka buzz uske pehle poster se shuru ho gaya tha ek saal pehle while khiladi ka buzz jo thoda bahot bana hai woh either just a week before the release and in small circuite because of music …. and exhibitors were saying it will break RR 15 crore day 1 record :huh: :P . iknew from start it wont ..

    Ofcourse i didnt expect 9 kind day 1 i expected 12 cr day 1 but then i see many akshay fans on Fb disappointed because they EXPECTED MUCH MORE due to FALSE PICTURE SHOWN by TRADE PPL on TWITTER ..

      @manish: totally agree with you…My expectation was around 10-11 crores from K786 when I first saw it promos and heard its songs…but the way komal nahta was reporting I felt like k786 will collect 15 crores….
      Even around 85 crores is a good total for k785 and with around 90 crores Akki would have ended 2012 in a high…but Akki fans themselves pulled Akki down by saying Akki will certainly have hattrick of 100 crores this year. NOw just because k786 is 10-15 crores short of 100 crores, it would look like akki ended the year in low.
