1773411 Talaash not a universal film: Aamir Khan

Bollywood star Aamir Khan knows his latest release Talaash does not cater to a universal audience, but he is glad with the response it has received.

“Talaash is not a universal film. There is a supernatural element in this film and it was a risky film to make. Around 80 to 90 per cent of the audience liked the film,” Aamir told reporters here Tuesday.

He says his next release Dhoom 3 is a universal project.

“Even kids will like that film. But Talaash has got a different audience,” said Aamir.

Bollywood’s first Zombie film to hit screens in Feb 2013; generates curiosity

December 4, 2012 |

604012 180937675378088 519949442 n Bollywood’s first Zombie film to hit screens in Feb 2013; generates curiosity

Rise Of The Zombie, the first film in Hindi cinema on zombies, is all set to release all over next year in February and is slowly and gradually creating buzz. The director of the film, Luke Kenny (popular for his role of Rob in ‘Rock On!!’), along with actor Ashwin Mushran, organized a ‘Zombie-Walk’ in Bandra (Mumbai) few days back, thus kick-starting the promotions of the film in a unique way.

Luke Kenny, during the launch of the film in January, had expressed surprise as to why the zombie genre wasn’t explored by any filmmaker. Luke, who has been a fan of zombie cinema, thus took up the challenge along with co-director Devaki Singh and attempted to make, what he claims, the first zombie origin film. Luke is also a part of the principal cast of the film besides Kirti Kulhari (of Shaitan fame), Ashwin Mushran and Benjamin Gilani. Though unconventional, the film boasts of an item song – the remix of the iconic ‘Aao Na’ (Nazia Hussain). The remix, like the original, is done by music composer Biddu while it’s sung by Aditi Singh Sharma.

Though two more zombie Hindi films are still in the pipeline, Rise Of The Zombie releases first and thus has the advantage of being labeled as the ‘first zombie film of Bollywood’. Although the film is made on shoestring budget, the promotion is expected to be eyeball-grabbing. Also thanks to the presence of zombies and also being the first to do so in Bollywood, the film can definitely have an advantage when it hits theatres in February 2013. Are you ready for some chills and thrills?

jOBS, the typographically irregular biopic that stars Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs has unveiled a first image (via Variety).

If there was ever any doubt (and c’mon, there wasn’t), the first official shot proves that Kutcher is a spot-on match for the young Jobs, looks-wise.

What’s less certain is whether Kutcher will have the dramatic chops to carry a performance that’ll be so closely scrutinised, but if he does pull it off, it’ll be a surefire gamechanger for him.

Is Salman Khan The Only Khan Now As Even Aamir Khan Will Not Have A Big Grosser With Talaash?

Q. Rowdy Rathore you claimed will be huge and now Khildai 786 you say may not even do 100 crore, why such difference as both films are same types?

A. The excitement at the exhibition level does not look the same but that does not mean it can’t do big business. Just the opening numbers may not be that big. See Khiladi 786 will not get a bad opening but when some films get pumped to do certain figures which are very unlikley that actually good opening becomes a disappointment as general opinion becomes its low.

Jugglery- We can Ask Aamir what it is …

December 4, 2012 | 4

Playing with words is a rather common art these days. If you are able to fake emotions, sincerity and feelings then you can go a notch higher on the ladder of success. You need to keep on reinforcing the fact that you are honest so much so that others appear dishonest. We can buy talent but we cannot buy sincerity or so we thought. If sincerity is up for grabs in a three hours time window, who wouldn’t want to buy it.

You can love someone when you are in awe of him. You can love someone when he is out of your reach. You can love someone just because he is what you cannot be. But probably there is nothing better than loving someone when you know he loves you back. Love may appear in the simple form of predictable honesty.

There is a fake glitter to our cinema stars but we love them for one reason or another. But if you are able to appreciate someone who you feel is totally fair with you it is just another feeling.

They call it credibility-the ability to invoke audiences’ trust again and again. Building a relationship over the years when you can blindly trust the star to be honest with you.

Q. Which film actually had a better opening day Jab Tak Hai Jaan or Talaash?
A. Both were in same range.
R Jayarajan

Q. Is Salman Khan the only Khan now as even Aamir Khan will not have a big grosser with Talaash?
A. It still remains to be seen where Talaash goes. They are all still Khans but right now you can say Salman Khan is the biggest by a fair margin. Also if Talaash does not gross big its more to do with the genre, director, writers, music etc and film in general, not Aamir Khan because whatever it does will be because of him.
S Mirza

Q. Will Dabangg 2 gross more than Dabangg?
A. It will be a huge shock if it does not.
