Raw power and his own brand of humour leave crowds swooning
The man is nearly 48. But his stage presence alone can move women to tears.
This is Salman Khan, whose raw power was unleashed on Dubai this UAE National Day, with enough Bollywood kitsch in the kitty to warrant a potboiler of its own.
Monday 3rd December 2012 16.30 IST Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network Talaash collected 44 crore nett approx over its first weekend. The territorial breakdown is as follows Mumbai – 15.72 crore Delhi/UP – 8.43 crore East Punjab …
3 (Moonu) - awesome movie… First movie of dhanush tht i saw n he is just brilliant as an actor… Shruti hassan is hell of an actress but can’t believe she was the one in ‘luck’ opp imran khan. First half is very sweet sugar coated gudda guddi type which actually is real in real world n then come’s reel cinema in second half with tragic end… Don’t knw why a sugar coated film can’t end the same way as it begun… Happy endings makes you feel more rejuvenated , much happier, makes you think about the real life and the way you are dealing with your life rather than the tragic films which makes you think more about the reel cinema that you just watched. But anyways I Absolutely loved the film n will give 4.5/5
Talaash – I watched it on Thursday itself and that helped me to enjoy it much more than others did. Its hard to escape from spoilers or reviews or in between comments without any indication of spoiler if you are regular online browser. I have put forward my views regarding Talaash on variousl talaash threads and these are some few below;
Just back from Talaash… Just fucking awesome until the last 5-10 minutes… Whole film is based on climax… Don’t know why did Aamir choose this climax? why aamir? why?…
There are certain films that are made from the point of Box office perspective and then there are films like OMG, Talaash, PST, Shanghai, English Vinglish etc…. which are solely made for Quality and that are completely different from each other…
Salman Khan inspires Soha Ali for her next ‘Jo Bhi Karva Lo’
SALMAN KHAN’S ECCENTRIC ICONIC character Chulbul Pandey from Dabangg has inspired actress Soha Ali Khan to play a rustic cop in her upcoming film Jo Bhi Karva Lo.
Soha, 34, said she is a huge fan of the actor and took inspiration from him to portray her character of inspector Shanti Priya in the mad-cap comedy.
“I am excited about my role because for the first time I will be doing action along with comedy. My character is like Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey and I have taken inspiration from him.
note:I guess star power in today’s day is all about weekend opening a star can give. And imo below if taken at face value shows Aamir is clearly no. 1.
1) All other seven movies are mass movies.
2) All other movies are holiday release maybe with exception of Rowdy Rathore.
3) Difference between Rowdy and Talaash = 2.5-3 cr.
4) All other movies were heavily promoted.
Talaash is the 8th highest opening of all time. The film is Aamir Khan’s biggest opening, it may not be his biggest opening day but a day depends on holiday while three days even things out so is a better judge of opening numbers The top fifteen opening weekends in the history of Hindi film industry in terms of nett collections are listed below.

The iconic character of Chulbul Pandey, the whistle-inducing dialogues, the crackling romantic moments — these are the elements that made Dabangg memorable! Writer Dileep Shukla talks about what will make Dabangg 2 unforgettable…

In Dabangg, you had already established characters…What happens now?
We’ve taken the story forward from where Dabangg ended. Chulbul and Rajjo, now a married couple, move to Kanpur. They are in a big city now, and Chulbul encounters bigger goons. He now fights-off three brothers who team up against him. The relationships in the family go through a change…The mother is no more, and the brothers are married. There was a problem between father son and between brothers, but that’s ironed out in the sequel. There’s still light-hearted ribbing among them, but no enmity.
