Salman aims to release Sohail’s film on Eid next year-TOI
Sohail Khan’s Sher Khan is on hold. However, he and his brother Salman Khan, will start their new film (not known whether it is the remake of the south film Brindavanam for which they have acquired the rights, or something totally new) on January 20, 2013.
Says a trade source, “The target is simple. Salman and Sohail are trying to bring their new film out in the first 10 days of August in time for Ramzan Eid.”
Everyone knows that Eid and Salman have become synonymous with each other. His success ratio around this festival has been: Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Sohail Khan’s next film (2013).
Ekta Kapoor has already announced that her Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again with Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha will release on Eid next year. If both films come, guess there will be a tightly contested box office match here.
Meanwhile, there is also trade talk that Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty will target bringing Chennai Express exactly 15 days before Eid. This date is lucky for Rohit because in the past two years he has brought Singham (2011) and Bol Bachchan (2012) in the same period and both films have worked for him.
A source adds, “There was talk of SRK also wanting to target Ramzan Eid for his release. However since it is Salman, who seems to have proprietorial rights over Ramzan Eid, SRK was advised that it would be prudent if he doesn’t choose Salman’s date.”
As of now the OUATIM sequel and Chennai Express are being shot at breakneck speed; while Salman and Sohail have just begun working on their script. Like a trade analyst said, “Eid next year could well turn out to be like Diwali this year. There will be additional fireworks if more than one superstar’s film comes on the same date.”

0 0chill guys,salmans film cant come on eid even if he wanted.he has messed up the shooting schedules.all of next month he has to promote dabangg 2 and shoot for bigg boss.then there will be his bday nd new year celebrations.abhi tak na title decided hai na lead heroine.shooting can start earliest by mid jan if sohail hurries with pre production.for movie to release on eid shooting has to end till mid june with 1 nd half month for promotion + post production.next year only 1 film of salman will release which will come on christmas which might clash with either peekay or happy new year.

Its the biggest franchisee as claimed by the makers.
It has competition from Talaash, I don’t think Talaash is any competition as its a plex only film and in second week how much will it collect anyways.Dabangg2 – Its part 2 of ATBB Dabangg.
It has competition from India – Pakistan series. -
