Akshay Kumar’s actioner Rowdy Rathore opened to packed houses and in a short period the movie entered Rs. 100 crore club. Again! Akshay wants to repeat the same success story with his masala entertainer Boss.
The star has reportedly locked the release date of the film, and like Rowdy Rathore, his Boss too will release in the month of June. While Rowdy Rathore had hit the theatres on June 1, Boss releases on June 7, 2013.
As a source is quoted as saying, “In the times when release dates are becoming more and more precious with every passing year, every superstar worth his salt is keen on blocking a date for him on a yearly basis.” The source further adds that besides the festive occasions, there are other important dates which can prove profitable for a film at the box office.
After Rowdy Rathore’s stupendous success, Akshay Kumar feels that first week of June is good for an action entertainer, and also the summer season is considered to be a rewarding period for Bollywood, claim insiders.
As Akshay doesn’t like to go slow and releases his two-three films per year, the year 2013 will be no different. He will start 2013 with Special Chabbis, and his Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 is also confirmed for August 8 release. Thus, he can release Boss in between, and June is just perfect.
Boss is a remake of the South Super Hit Pokkiri Raja starring superstar
Mammooty. In the movie, he will play a kind hearted gangster. Directed by Anthony D’Souza, the film has recently gone on the floors.
