2.Trade expert Amod Mehra said, “JTHJ has failed miserably in single screens. Hence, theatres are ready to accommodate SOS now.”
3.Owner of Maratha Mandir, Manoj Desai, who started with three shows of JTHJ on November 13 confirmed that now they have reduced the number of shows to two.
4.TOI has found out that over 350 single screens across India have decided to replace JTHJ with SOS. These include Chitra in Dadar, Premiere in Dongri, Dreamland and Central Plaza in Mumbai and also Apsara Big in Ahmedabad
5.According to reports, months prior to their yet untitled film’s release, Yash Raj Films had made a pact with single screen owners – they will get to showcase the single Eid release ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ only if they promise to release Yash Chopra’s directorial on similar terms. Unwilling to lose out on the Salman Khan starrer ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, many had agreed then. Their stance seems to have changed now.(TOI)
Mumbai: Kajol, who has given one of the most successful films (DDLJ) of all times under Yash Raj banner did not attend the premiere of Yash Chopra’s last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan. It has been revealed now that Kajol was not even invited for the premiere.
Ajay Devgn told a daily, “Yes, Kajol was not seen at the premiere as she was not invited.” Not only this, insiders say that Kajol is very upset with YRF as when Ajay Devgn used ‘Kajra Re’ song in Bol Bachchan, YRF demanded 5 lakhs to re-use the song. Kajol was hurt because she had done numerous appearances and cameos in Yash Raj Films movies free of charge.
The story does not end here, sources claim that initially Ajay agreed to pay the amount. However, YRF then hiked the sum to Rs 25 lakh for the 90-second sequence.
Well, we think Kajol should have been invited to the Jab Tak Hai Jaan premiere. As the actress did not say anything against YRF even when her husband Ajay filed a complaint against them.
Readers, do you think YRF did the right thing by not inviting Kajol?

On the contrary, Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar has picked up well and has done considerably better business than JTHJ at the domestic box office yesterday, all thanks to the increased number of screens in SOS’s kitty.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan can only wait for the coming weekend to help numbers and make some money at the domestic front.

The answer is simple. The toughest thing on NG is being a SRK Fan. It has been almost 5 year and SRK fans havn’t got any good news and nadir point is to beaten by SOS. It is quite possibe that JTHJ’s life time collection will be more then SOS but the plain and simple fact is that JTHJ’s is beaten by SOS no matter even for a day. It was diwali of 2007 when SRK blasted BO with OSO and since then he is trying to catching up. RNBDJ did great buisness but the Gajhani came created a strom at the Box office. After that it is downhill for SRK. MNIK did only 70+ cr. Ra one was crap. Don 2 was a good film but it was very tough to erase memory of crap Ra one. Now JTHJ is finding it very tough to go pass 100 cr when a film like Barfi did more then 100 cr. It is now crystel clear that SRK will be the first among Khan trio who will go on the sunset. Salman is on a diffrent leauge altogether. Aamir’s Talaash might fail to strom BO but he has Dhoom 3 and PK. Though i will not count SRK out of the race till Chennai express. But one thing is sure that SRK is unable to bring neutral viewers into the theatre. Only SRK fans are watching his films. Therefore SRK’s film are doing OK buisness but if you are in top rung you have to give big grosser. Now it is written on the wall that SRK is going to obilion but the good thing is that the end of his stardom is not abrupt but slowly fading out. The good thing about fading out it that it will give SRK time to mentally prepare for the new things and it will not came as a shock for him.
PS- All said and done still i will be a fan of SRK because he has given me enough to remember and it nothing to be ashemed. Whatever goes up comes down. He was the fisrt to go up and first to come down.

The human ‘Tiger’ Salman Khan will share screen space with a computer-generated tiger in Sohail Khan’s Sher Khan. Contrary to the reports claiming that Sohail Khan’s film Sher Khan has been “canned”, the film is all set to roll in January 2013.
Confirming this and refuting rumours that Salman has halted the project for the want of a Bengal Tiger, Sohail speaking from outside India said, “Once I start shooting in January all the rumours and speculation will die down. I am out of the country, so I’ve no idea about what’s being written about my film. Even if I am in India I am too busy with pre-production to pay attention to rumours.” Sohail confirms the tiger would play a pivotal part in the film along with Salman. “The film is a two-hero project, the human tiger (Salman) and the animal tiger,” says Sohail.
One learns from a source that it’s already been decided the tiger would be computer-generated. Says the source, “With the Animal Welfare Board breathing down their necks there is no question of a real tiger being used. Besides the Sher Khan unit has to be careful of Salman’s neurological condition. Any stress can trigger it off. They aren’t taking any chances.” Continue reading
“200 To 300 Screens To Be Added To Son Of Sardar From Nov 23″: Ajay Devgn
“In the second week, in the coming friday, we have 200-300 more screens added on to Son of Sardar,” disclosed Ajay Devgn in an interview with me yesterday. “As soon as the theater count increases, the collections increase and we are hoping for a very good second week as well,” Ajay Added.
Son Of Sardaar which released on Diwali (November 13) has been doing well at the Box Office. However, the release was preceded by a long drawn out battle for screen space with the other Diwali release Jab Tak Hai Jaan. “It was very stressful. No one wants a controversy. It just gives you sleepless nights. What had to be done had to be done. I’ve said before that even if the theatres are less, but the audience should not be less,” says Ajay about the fiasco that broke around the petition that his company had filed against YRF.
It was being said that as a mark of respect for Mr. Yash Chopra, Ajay should move the release of his film. “Some people did say that. Like everybody else my respect for Yash ji is not any less. Its business, I cannot kill myself. I had given the industry an option, I am willing to do that but its business, you give me space. Let everybody go ahead by two weeks. If the whole industry shifts by two weeks, I am ready to shift. Everybody backed out, so what does that say?”questions Ajay. When asked Ajay if filing the case helped him in anyway, he replied, “When we filed the case, we were 1000 screens less. It was because of the case that the pressure came on the other party and we got at least 400-500 screens more.”
As for why Kajol was absent at the premiere of Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Ajay says, “Kajol was not invited for the premiere of Jab Tak Hai Jaan which I feel is very petty. This shows the pettiness of someone else.”
And here’s a biggie. Is Ajay open to doing a film with Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan? “I’m okay with everything as long as there is a film where the script is liked by all three of us and all three of us have substantial roles that we want to do in the film, then why not,” Ajay said.
All this and more in Ajay Devgn’s Bollywood Hungama exclusive interview…coming soon! Continue reading
As always, Aamir Khan was the trendsetter when he pre-booked the release date of ‘Talaash’ months ahead of its release. A never heard before concept in India, it has now paid off, what with the film seeing good occupancy guaranteed for it.
Though pre-bookings are open only at PVR, other multiplex chains are also expected to follow suit. Now Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are also following suit with ‘Dabangg 2′ and ‘Khiladi 786′ respectively.
“They would have to,” says an expert, “Even though both Salman and Akshay are starring in quintessential ‘masala’ fares which would have a massive reach among single screen audience, they don’t want to alienate multiplexes either. That’s why tickets of their films are already available even though they are weeks away from release.” Phew!
Bollywood A-listers clearly mean business.
