Q. The last Khiladi movie (Khiladi 420) released in 2000. Now there’s Khiladi 786. Why the long gap?

There’s no specific reason. But yes, I intentionally avoided action films
for a while. I got married in 2001 and in 2002 I was blessed with a son
(Aarav). With the added responsibilities I wanted to avoid dangerous
stunts. So I took a sabbatical from action films. I wanted to focus on
comedy, emotions and drama.

Q. Your first Khiladi movie released in 1992. Did you ever imagine it would become a franchise?

No. When you are just beginning your career, how can you predict
what will work or what title will stick to you? No one can foresee the
future. Even a pandit (astrologer) can’t tell you what’s going to happen
two years down the line.

Q. Tell us somethiung about Khiladi 786.

The number 786 symbolises Bismillah in Arabic, which means starting
something new in the name of Allah. This film is based on the idea that
if someone is blessed with 786 written on his hand, he’s in God’s care
and nothing can touch him

Q. What surprises are in store for the viewers this time?

The film is full of fun, frolic, entertainment and enjoyment.

Q. Will Khiladi 786 cross the 100 crore mark?

I undergo this trial four-five times a year (Smiles)! Of course, there is a
slight stress, a little tension. If a film does well, it’s great. But if it
doesn’t then you try again. Failure doesn’t mean that you should stop
going through the tests. Life has taught me a lot.
