Q. Did Jab Tak Hai Jaan actually break any opening records?

A. It broke opening records in UAE and Pakistan. It may have broken records in some other small overseas circuits. None in India

Q. Will Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar cross 100 crore?

A. 100 crore is irrelevant today. There has been a huge jump in business this year that 100 crore actually does not mean much. Hopefully Dabangg 2 will actually show the how much the potential opening has jumped this year.

Q. Does Shahrukh Khan dominate the media so much that last year they claimed Ra.One has 18-19 crore opening day and this year Jab Tak Hai Jaan at 15 crore is claimed his biggest opener, why this never happen with Akshay Kumar film whose films are always negative in media?
A. Its not about SRK or Akshay. It’s just the media reporters don’t know actual collections or it takes them long time to find out. Ra.One was not 18 or 19 so when they claim Jab Tak Hai Jaan at 15 is his biggest opener that means they have found out actual Ra.One figures and possibly in time they will find out actual Jab Tak Hai Jaan opening. They are sure to find out if next SRK starrer opens at around 14.5-15 crore.

    we all know that the media can make ordinary numner anew history and at the same time make ahistoric number avery ordinary acheive .This is bollywood my friend in simple words .About Overseas i say it before the film is doing great overseas but didnt break the weekend WHICH IS LOWER THAN EVEN om shanti om and much behind MNIK ( 5.5 M )

    but who do they m4ean by media? bastards of india themselves are the biggest culprits who use every trick in the trade to overproject sharukjh and akshay’s films. the best example is that rowdy rathore and ek tha tiger, with 70 cr difference in collections are given the same verdict – blockbuster. the only thing they did not do so far was giving false figures but if the 12 cr difference between them and komal/taran figures indicate anything, they are into that too now.

    this is a site that does not put salman khan in the top position for the year 2010. need anything more be said?

    also since last year they have stopped updating their ‘top hits’pages and top stars’pages. why? well becoz salman is on top.

      Three Idiots – 385 Crore and Dabangg – 215 Crore. With difference of 170 Crore in collections are given same verdict – ATBB.

        3 idiots was 202 cr and dabangg 141. and in case of films that are exceptionally big hits, the next ones are given the same verdict you only had told me i think (justfying how ddlj, raja ha and kkhh are also abbs) thats becoz atbb se bada koi verdicts hai nahin

        but there is a bigger verdict than blockbuster. i m not objecting to rr being a blockbuster – but ett is clearly an atbb. if kkhh 4 years after hahk and earning 2/3rd of it can be a atbb then ett was just a few crores short f 3 idiots. by all means its an atbb.

        or else nor are ghanjni, dabangg, gadar, kkhh, raja h, ddlj, ram teri ganga maili, and sangam.

        i m trying to point out the anomalys in boi verdicts. i personally think there are just 7 atbbs – 1. kismat 2. moher india 3. mughal e aazam 4. sholay 5. jai santoshi ma, 6. maine pyaar kiya and 7 hum aapke hain kaun

        rest are all debatable. the movies i listed are the biggets hits of their decade.

    Kalko agar Komal/Taran Dabangg 2 ko 100 cr aur BOI Dabangg 2 ko 110 cr batayega toh ….
    Woh kahenge hame Taran aur komal se aise umeed nhi thi……

    but will forgot that that —-

    Race released in 2008 did 61 cr declared as Hit….
    But Wanted released in 2009 also did 60 cr but is declared Super-Hit….yaar iss logic se toh Wanted bhi below average hai…..

    will cross Ready’s 122 cr …..

    they will say BOI said JTHJ is less than 115 cr…..

    Boi’s collections for movies are always less than komal/tarans’s… They have sos extended weekend at 58…others have 66… Jthj extended weekend at 73.5…others have 80!

    OSO released in 2007 did 80 cr declared as Blockbuster….
    But Partner released in 2007 did 60 cr but is declared Blockbuster….yaar iss logic se toh Partner bhi Super hit hai Blockbuster nhi hai…..

    chalo salman ki ek Blockbuster bada di iss BOI ne…..
    par phir bhi ye salman ke against hai……

    @Danish I think all the NG member are very much experienced and know that a verdict of a movie depends on the budget+marketing+print costs. Everyone knows that salman movies are much more costly (production cost, cost to exhibitors purchase) due to success he is having these days.

    So it means that a Salman khan movie needs to gross much more than a Akshy movie to get similar verdict.

    @RJ – jaanwar with top heroines karisma (post raja h and dil to paagal hai) shilpa etc earns 11 cr and is a semi hit on boi, hello brother shot mainly on one chawl set with then newcomer rani mukherji and arbaaz khan makes 11.50 cr and is a flop on boi. do u need more proof. and it all in the same year. bth films had absolutely equal budgets i am sure. if at all karisma’s fees wud have inflated jaanwar budget.

    @ankini – did any f the examples that u gave have a huge difference of 70 cr? budget differences can get two films the same kind of verdict if the difference n collections is marginal. not wen its 70 cr.

    @zubair – i m sure realizing how things are slipping out of srk’s hand and how akshay is an occasional fluke with no bbs/atbbs to his credit bastards of india now want to ge into salman’s good books so they can ge all the ad banners etc for his movies. but considering salman is not into buying awards and media i am sure all they will get is a punch from salman after so much manipulation over 25 years’ records.

    race to ek hi lead karta hai aur wo hai salman khan.

    i am waiting only for kick. and if salman signs sooraj barjatya’s film then off course nothing gets bigger than that! sooraj is known to take long to plan and then shoot in 60–70 days so a diwali release is not ruled out. which means like outim has to move away from eid, krishh3 will have to be postponed from diwali.

    only god can help danish to get him out of the la la land(i mean salmans’s land)…..keep joking and dreaming and make all of us happy…..bhaiyo aur bahno please give him a big ground of applaud for making us laugh….i bet he is a better comedian than johny lever and rajpal yadav anyday.
