Looks like the Bollywood remake of Tamil hit Vettai is back on track. Initially, Shahid Kapoor pulling out of the project had landed the makers in a soup. But buzz now is that Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham could well be a part of the film.
Our sources also say that director N Linguswami has been replaced by Abbas-Mustan. A source says, “The film will now go on the sets late next year. Earlier R Madhavan and Ali Zafar were said to be cast for the project. Now the makers are talking to Abhishek and John and they could be playing the roles of the two lead characters.”
Another source close to the production house says, “UTV suffered a roadblock as far as Vettai is concerned and the film was put on hold indefinitely. Now things are once again falling in place.” The source adds, “John and Abhishek are a formidable duo and after Dostana they are one of the most sought after pairs in Bollywood. While the fate of its sequel remains undecided, both of them could come together again in this remake.”
Producer Siddarth Roy Kapur remained unavailable for comment.
