MUMBAI, Nov. 3 — Here’s a look at what went into the making of a super tune
COMPOSER: Himesh Reshammiya
SINGERS: Himesh Reshammiya and Aman Trikha Son Of Sardaar’s title song is an up-tempo bhangra track. The prominent dhols and peppy chorus line seem fitting keeping in mind the theme of the movie. The video features a turbaned Ajay Devgn flaunting peculiar dance moves.
HIMESH RESHAMMIYA shares his experience of working on the song.
RECORDING THE TRACK: “I asked the singers to flow with the melody. Since the title track
The audio album of this Diwali’s grand release, SON OF SARDAAR, is already making waves amongst music lovers, and composer Himesh Reshammiya is riding high on the success of his latest albums, BODYGUARD, BOL BACHCHAN and OMG OH MY GOD! and is back in top form with SOS.
However, one song that has indeed turned out to be a chartbuster even before it’s release is ‘Po Po’ a boisterous ‘bhangra’ dance number featuring none other than super star and box-office favourite Salman Khan in a special appearance along with the lead pair of super actor Ajay Devgn and the ‘Sau Karori’, Sonakshi Sinha and the deadly Dutt. The promotional video featuring them is already making rounds on various television channels and web portals and it is indeed a treat to see so many big stars come together under one roof for this chartbuster.
The trio, Salman, Ajay and Sanjay had earlier (the last two in special appearance) come together and created ‘dhamaal’ for Salman’s super hit, READY and this time they are once again ready to set the screens alight this Diwali’ with ‘Po Po’ which is being lapped up by the masses and youth for it’s catchy, humorous, fun loving, festive dancing feel.
With audio giants T-Series at the helm of affairs, and the promotion being kicked off in a massive scale, one is sure that the songs and especially ‘Po Po’ will surely help SON OF SARDAAR open to full houses when it releases on 13th November.
Veteran star Tanuja and actor Sonakshi Sinha got along like a house on fire while they were shooting in Patiala for Son of Sardaar, that also stars Tanuja’s son-in-law Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt.
It was Sona and Tanuja’s passion for reading and their love to taste different varieties of delicacies which brought them together,” says a source.
“Yes, Tanuja Aunty and Sona have become really close. They both love reading and would talk about their favourite books and authors all the time. They even recommend books to each other. Tanuja aunty is very fond of Sonakshi and she even cooked some tasty delicious Rajma for her when we were shooting in Patiala. In fact even post the shooting they call each other very often,” quipped a source close to the team. Sonakshi, 25, is younger than Tanuja’s two daughters, Kajol and Tanisha.
“Also after wrapping up the shoot Tanujaji and Sonakshi would stroll around near the farms and enjoy the scenic beauty. That was their ideal routine almost every day,” informs a source close to the team.

Mumbai: Producer-actor Ajay Devgn had recently slapped a legal notice on Yash Raj Films (YRF) for exercising their influential status in the market. ‘Son of Sardaar’ starring Ajay, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and Salman Khan (in guest appearance) is all set to hit the silver screen this Diwali on November 13 along with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.
However, the cast and crew of SOS is not much excited over the scheduled release of their film, as director Ashwani Dhir and producer Ajay Devgn are busy seeking legal consultations on their future strategy.
Talking to a tabloid of a reputed publication, a source said, “This was supposed to be the biggest moment in his (Ashwani Dhir) career but all he is doing is reading about court cases, theatre count, unfair practices and some ugly to and fro comments. He would have preferred to revel in the release of his biggest film, but instead, he is seeing an anxious run-up that has nothing to do with the content that he has put together.”
Bollywood’s shocker of a case – an A-list actor taking the legal route to accuse an A-list production house of unfair, monopolistic business practices over a Diwali release – has been decided. The Competition Commission of India (CCI) passed an order in Delhi on Monday night deciding that the practices of Yash Raj Films that were described as unfair and monopolistic by Ajay Devgn Ffilms, were not violative of sections 3 and 4 of the Competition Act.
What does that mean? Round one goes to YRF. Ajay Devgn Ffilms had filed a case with the CCI, alleging that YRF had used their dominant position in the market to unfairly corner a large number of single screens for JTHJ, leaving few for SOS. At the time of the release of Ek Tha Tiger, YRF had, in return for supplying ETT, made many single screen theatres sign an agreement that they would only screen JTHJ during Diwali.
But in their order on November 5, the CCI stated they didn’t think this was monopolistic. These are their arguments: They didn’t see how this causes “appreciable adverse effect on Competition in India”. It doesn’t restrict the entry of new players into the market, it doesn’t drive any existing player out of the market, it does not deprive the ultimate consumers, the viewers, of any benefits. The order says single screen theatres took a business decision by signing the agreement – they knew there were going to be other films releasing during Diwali, and they were free not to sign.
