Date drama
In their statement to the media, the studio also states that whole JTHJ had announced its release date way back on June 27 last year, the makers of SOS only announced its release date on May 29 this year. The official statement adds, “It would seem odd if the makers of SOS expect YRF to wait for them to make their plans and then approach the exhibitors.” Well, all we can say is that may the best man win!

It’s no hidden secret that every big star and filmmaker want his/her film to release during the Diwali weekend. This year too, there seems to be a crazy demand for the Diwali weekend.

While Yash Chopra’s directorial venture starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma and Akshay Kumar- Himesh Reshammiya’s joint ventureKhiladi 786 had already announced Diwali 2012 as their release date, now Ajay Devgn too has joined the fray with his home production Son Of Sardar.

Son of Sardar was supposed to release on Nov 30 but it has now been pre-poned and will arrive on the Diwali weekend. Ajay has always had a superb track record during Diwali what with his films like All The Best, Golmaal Returns and Golmaal 3 emerging to be super-hits. Hence, the actor-producer thought it’s in the best interest of the film to release during the festive period.

Son Of Sardar is a remake of the Telugu film Maryada Ramanna and stars Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla. The film is directed by Ashwini Dhir.

With Son Of Sardar joining the Diwali release bandwagon, get ready for a 3 way clash between King Khan, Khiladi Kumar and Lion King (as Ajay is now referred to post his super-hit Singham).
