High Court Deems Ajay Devgn’s Plea Against SRK’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ Urgent!
The Delhi High Court Friday asked the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to “urgently” pass the order on a plea filed by actor Ajay Devgn against the alleged monopolistic practices adopted by Yash Raj Films in ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.
Yash Raj Films (YRF), the production house owned by late Yash Chopra, allegedly abused its dominant position by asking exhibitors to dedicate more screens to their upcoming release “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” than for his “Son of Sardaar”, Devgn said in a complaint to the CCI.
“Jab Tak Hai Jaan” (starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma) and “Son Of Sardaar” (starring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt) are scheduled for release this Diwali Nov 13.
Hearing the plea of Devgn, Justice Rajiv Shakdher asked the CCI to hear the plea and pass the order urgently.
Advocate Rajiv Nayyar, representing Devgn, told the court that arguments in the case have been heard by the CCI.
Nayyar said: “Petitioner (Devgn) would require some time to enter into some agreement with exhibitors before its release and the advance booking of the petitioner’s film will commence from tomorrow (Nov 3) but the commission is not listing the matter in spite of the urgency.”

0 0final judgement might not even come and matter might become influctious.
The requirement is move at break neck speed, engage the best lawyers, and move from one forum to another, if anyhow SOS fails to get any injunction or favourable order in few days, the matter is gone case, and then it will be just another matter.
Law helps the vigilant.
If on record YRF can show ADF knew since 2-3 months about situation, and they approached court late…. that might affect the judicial mind.

It should have said decide within a 3 days or something.
for eg. i am appearing in plenty of cases where expedite word is used by High Court or Supreme Court, but that only means at ur discretion do it as fast as possible, no deadline.
if high court really would have felt urgency than in normal cases directions are like :
- decide within fortnight
- decide within 3 monthsthat is a mandamus under article 226, simpliciter expedite is of no value in law, and it actually means the matter filed before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court, for appropriate relief failed.
ps; in one matter ( i know ) recently expedite order was passed the matter is not heard since a month or so

They thought they will manage it, but as buzz was extremely low for SOS and not much interest shown by audience toeards it’s Songs and trailors they started this nrws so at least SOS comes in news. SOS team job is done know most people are aware SOS is also rleasing and due to some sympathy those people who will not get tickrts for JTHJ will watch SOS. SOS was always goner just making this news it will get some audience and Ajay knows this that is why He is doing all this.

SOS is not directed by Rohit so flop to hona hi hai. SOS se full confirm ho ga Ajay is zero without Rohit, plus Rohit has also left him and moved to SRK.
