As we all know this year 2012 has been phenomenal for our bollywood in terms of films and Box office. Whether its content driven films like kahaani, Barfi, GoW1-2 , OMG, Vicky donor, English Vinglish OR Full on mass entertainer south remake backed with engaging script Rowdy Rathore OR Salman’s First venture with YashRajfilms backed with Superb Action Ek Tha Tiger OR Hrithik-Sanjay dutt in Bollywood’s own remake of classic Dharma’s Agneepath OR Comedy Entertainers Multi starrers like HF2 or Bol Bachcann OR Emraan-Bipasha’s thriller Horror film Raaz3 OR recently released KJo’s candy floss film SOTY. All in all this year has been just Fantastic for hindi films and its box office that is further underlined by the fact that even hugely disliked films of the year like JISM2 and Heroine managed to do below average to Average business for themselves.

Okay, now we are coming to the end of an year 2012 (one of the best year for hindi cinema in recent past years). So is it over? answer is NO kyonki -picture abhi baki hai mere dost in fact picturaeeeee baki hai starring TOP STARS of bollywood. Asli khel to ab hoga – Maza to ab ayega – jab Salman SRK Aamir Ajay Akshay all TOP STARS of bollywood are ready to release their respective awaited films back to back in span of just 5 weeks (nov13-dec21). In these 5weeks ab sab ki 5ki5 filmein to BLOCKBUSTER nahin ho sakti jo har ek TOP star chahta hai of course sirf apni khud ki film ke lie Even all 5films being SUPERHIT looks difficult.Kisi na kisi TOP STAR ko to lose karna padega disappointment ke sath . In paancho mein se kaun sa bada star hoga wo? or kya inmein se koi star ki film expectations se jyda karegi? ATBB or Bohat jyda expectations? which one? kausi film hogi wo?

There can be lot of permutations and combinations and they can be just anything – surprising shocking hurting overwhelming at same time depending on bhakt (fan) of which actor you are like – What if SOS becomes Blockbuster and JTHJ – Just hit like disappointment what if Dabangg2 Underperforms and Khiladi786 becomes big Blockbuster? or will Talaash be one more Blockbuster for Aamir or this time he has to do with super hit? or maybe flop? what if JTHJ – ATBB and SOS – BB can they repeat lagaan-gadar here? OR what if SOS and Khiladi786 both masala films fail badly ? will there be any pressure then on arbaz with dabangg2? specially also if both JTHJ and Talaash become HUGE BLOCKBUSTERS.
One can just go on and on with such questions arising from many permutations and combinations and fact is each one of them is possible. Or will it be very simple and as expected Salman’s Dabangg2 will come and conquer to be the big blockbuster of them all . highest grosser of the year then also there is question will it be able to get ATBB tag jo salman (bhakts) fans (including me ) ki wish adhuri reh gayi thi this year with ek tha tiger or what if it remains behind ek tha tiger itself which is highest grosser of 2012 till NOW or does any of other films SOS khiladi786 JTHJ Talaash have ANY chance to surprise to outgross ek tha tiger? specially i am sure SRK fans with JTHJ would really like to believe that . Jo b ho in any which way one thing is for sure with so many permutations and combinations sare paancho actors ke bhakt (fans) to khush nahi honge.

CONTENT : Though one thing is very certain and definite which will play the most important role in determing the verdicts and business of all these films ie CONTENT. Good Content in the film not only can make film big success but also can surprise in a Huge way doing impossible what you may never thought of . I mean who would have thought i bet no one would have even dreamt that Barfi non-commercial looking film with ranbir with fucking 1300 odd prints and so much competition around raaz3 omg EV heroine etc would enter 100crores and fucking cross don 2′s collections.

Or OMG No one would have ever thought no akshay bhakts (fans) even in their wildest dreams not even akshay paresh themsleves that after opening so low,  film with paresh rawal in lead would went on to do 80+crores and even more as now i am writing this. OR who would have think that English vinglish riding on the shoulders of old actress sri devi will go on to do what it did for itself specially after opening so low and strong competion from omg OR even Rowdy Rathore the masala entertainer after opening with just 13-14crores( cannot be considered great opening for big star in 2012) went on to do whopping 132crores with excellent trending again thanks to its GOOD CONTENT the first blockbuster of this year the first solo blockbuster of akshay whole career.So bhakto CONTENT is the big thing here.

Also Imagine JTHJ if even 50% good in content compare to barfi and with double number of prints and 17clean days it can then easily reach 180-200crores atleast. Even Dabangg2 if arbaz manages to make 50% of what 1st dabangg was about then 200crores is like given , minimum.Same applies to other big films talaash k786 SOS. On the other hand heroine and jism2 are films which after oepning huge showed the vice versa result if content is bad.

Huge Expectations from all 5 films – It will be not wrong to say that the expectations from each of the big 5 films is huge.  Lets see how -

1. Jab Tak hai Jaan – Shahrukh Khan after huge dissappointment with Ra-one and with not so great success don 2 finally back to romance genre what he does best. That also with YRF the combination with whom SRK has given maximum blockbusters of his whole career. Add to that the Director none other than Late Mr. Yash Chopra the legendary filmmaker of bollywood – hindi cinema. Expectations are bound to be HUGE. Also note here that Late Yash Chopra knew it that it was the last film directed by him. So again that makes the film more interesting. then Katrina Factor (which till now is full on working and seems like a X factor for the film) , lyrics writer none other than Gulzar, A R Rehman (music currently doesn’t seem to be lived upto the huge expectations though the same album may start growing or working for you after you see the film on big screen its Ar rehman afterall ) , SRK-Katrina new fresh looking pair which we don’t get to see quite often these days in bollywood (and the chemistry between them is looking great till now in the trailers), Anushka one of the most successful actress of current generation only adds to the freshness feel good to the film.

Though SOS is releasing with it but it getting max screens and after that free 17days thats more than 2 free weeks which is like almost impossible for big film in today’s date so it can hardly be better than this almost everything is perfectly set for SRK to make a comeback .Going by the history of combination of yash chopra – SRK having traditional diwali release like their past blockbusters veer-zara dil to pagal hai etc this should be ATBB or atleast blockbuster.

 

 

2. Son of Sardar – Ajay Devgn has surely risen in past few years whether its OUTIM or his first solo blockbuster Singham making him one of the early member of 100crores right after Aamir and Salman or comedy blockbuster G-3. or fair hits like All the best and recent Bol Bachchann. Though Rascal and Tezz failed very badly but all in all He is surely giving fair competition to top actors. Yes lot of people complain that mostly its because of rohit shetty. ( with which i personally disagree). But it will surely be interesting to see ajay devgn coming with his full force without rohit shetty.

Another thing is the confident Ajay is showing with this film fully backed up by its stake holders Eros International. Though SRK is going through a rough patch but still Releasing your film on same date with the romantic film made by YRF , directed by yash chopra starring SRK in itself says a lot. Whether Ar Rehman or Gulzar YRF have got the best in the business. And ajay not backing up and still ready to face the competition shows the amount of confident he has on the film. and to be true the songs by himesh reshamiya fairly seems to be good and the promos specially the latest one do seem promising to be enough entertaining all this raises the interest level of the film much more.

Not to forget the film is an remake of south masala film. The formula which has turned fucking Gold every time at Box office for each and every big star including Ajay devgn himself. (Aamir – Ghajini , Salman- Wanted Ready Bodyguard Ajay (already)- Singham and this year Akshay-Rowdy Rathore) So if this film also turns Blockbuster i would not be surprised and i think you should also not specially SRK fans

Also thing here to note is that this south film was made by Rajmouli he is THE BEST director in south industry. and whoever has seen the original south film has only good things to say about the film which by the way doesn’t happen for every bollywood south remake and that it is said to be hugely entertaining. Again with this the expectations only doubles from this film. Besides all these things resulting big expectations from the film also has sanjay dutt who has already given kickass performance in Agneepath this year and himesh reshamiya music in totally sync with such commercial masala film.

Like i mentioned for JTHJ , SOS also has more than free 2 weeks free17days after it releases with JTHJ so if its entertaining enough like original then it should be not too difficult for this film to be a Blockbuster.

 

3. Talaash – Talaash first schedule to release last year and then june this year and now novemeber (due to aamir’s satyamev jayate show) has been in the news for quite a while now. It had its share of controversy of its climax being similar to kahaani or problems between female director reema and aamir. But this all has been cleared by the makers and aamir to be nothing but false.

The promos are out of Talaash which look interesting for the genre of its film. Though not very commercial but the music seem to in sync and is able to connect to the film which is good. Film is by Excel Entertainment one of the leading production houses for last decade now. Though not very highly successful but always strive to make something different (dch rockstar znmd among their best) makes it very interesting that also coming with Aamir Khan makes the expectations very high.

Lead actresses are kareena and rani which would be very interesting to see them doing such not so usual commercial films specially kareena kapoor.It also has actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Gow2 fame) which will be surely engaging to watch.

Frankly In today’s date a film having Aamir Khan in lead is enough to raise HUGE expectations from the film specially as far as content is concerned.Not because he is a big star but because The actor has done most best work in bollywood last decade compare to any other star as far as content is concerned. Lagaan , Dil chahta Hai , Rang De basanti , Tarein zameen Par , 3idiots this is like WOW. His films DCH RDB TZP are my most fav. films of bollywood from last decade. Though on other hand I personally don’t like lagaan and find 3idiots average but you have to give credit to him for doing such amazing work and selecting those scripts. Hatsoff.

Another thing which gives expectations a high is the wait and anticipation aamir khan creates for his films started from the past few years. He never disappoints and makes sure the wait is totally worth and most of the time delievers far more than the expectations. And since Talaash has been most waited film.This time also nothing different is expected from him.

Due to its thriller genre many people may not expect this film to become big blockbuster specially compare to other big star films releasing in these 5weeks As i have said above that we have seen content can do wonders for the film then genre does not matter at all if film is great then no one can stop it that is why barfi did 110+ or OMG 80+ or even Raaz3 75+ specially when this having aamir khan so anything can happen and expectations are huge though lot of people would not endorse this film to be big blockbuster but i won’t be surprised if it does become big blockbuster provided of course excellent content.

4. Khiladi786 – In spite of the disaster JOKER this year it would not be wrong to say this year has been one of the finest and best year for akshay kumar in his career after 2007. Starting this year with Superhit Multistarrer HF2 , Going on to give his first ever solo blockbuster of his whole career Rowdy Rathore and now super duper OMG. Though OMG had paresh in lead but akshay as producer and with his role in the film completely deserves the credit. What has been interesting for akshay this year that all his films HF2 RR OMG didn’t opened HUGE or didn’t had any record opening first day but they all went to trend superbly and do amazing business for itself which shows the appreciation of audience for his films. and i think it is the wonderful thing for any actor. Akshay completely deserves it. Congrats to him and his fans for that.

Now after OMG and having one of the best year in his career he is ready with khilad786. Addition to his khiladi series films. Akshay back to his khiladi image after 12years. This is one of the reason of high expectations from this film because it comes under Akshay’s popular khiladi image of 90′s.The title khiladi with akshay in the film is in itself enough to raise the buzz and curiosity. More than that Akshay once again in masala action film this year after Blockbuster Rowdy Rathore makes the expectations only huge specially from his fans . Other similarities between rowdy rathore and this film are that in both the films akshay is having double role out of which one role is of a police officer.

The director of the film has been assistant director of rohit shetty in his films and it also looks in the promo specially with Over the top action scenes but if the script is strong then it can work like anything. Many past films with OTT action have been blockbusters.

Himesh reshamiya is the music director of the film. His work has one interesting quality which i have noticed specially for such commercial films no matter how much you criticize his work or bash the songs you would not deny the fact that they do become popular with mass. so i would say same for khialdi786.

Besides music director himesh reshamiya is also scriptwriter of the film and has done one role in the film. The role in the film won’t matter much as far as akshay is there in the film that also with double roles and about he as a script writer i don’t think anything will be fair to comment about it. One thing can be said that Akshay producers and all other stake holders have approved his script to kuch soch samajke he kia hoga. hopefully for akshay bhakt (fans)  :D

Though promos till now have had mixed response but rowdy rathore promos also had exact similar response. So don’t be surprise like rowdy rathore khiladi786 also becomes blockbuster of course provided it has good enough content  like rowdy rathore.

 

 

5. Dabangg 2 – Chulbul Pandey .Salman Khan. Do i even need to say anything else? that why Expectations are HUGE from this film the sequel of one of the biggest ATBB in recent past years. One of The iconic film of bollywood – Hindi Cinema – Dabangg.

The question with this film is not whether this film will work or not. the question with this film is how much it will work? the question with this film is not whether this film will become blockbuster or not. the question with this film is whether it will become ATBB or BB?

No doubt as first time director arbaz has huge responsibility on his shoulders. It can easily establish arbaz as successful director in bollywood. But at the same time due to pressure he might falter. Would be very interesting how well he does with it.

IMO other than abhinav kashyap arbaaz is the best person to direct the sequel as he was the one totally involved with dabangg from start to finish with each scene dialogue, song and everything. It was very close to him. Whatever interviews i have read of him about dabangg2 he does sound sensible. Wish him all the best and big success with Dabangg 2. baki as a salman fan its given i want dabangg2 to be ATBB.
