Remembering Mehdi Hassan
This Ghazal written by Akbar Allahabadi was made popular by the living legend Ghulam Ali. Here is however, the less popular version by the legendary Mehdi Hassan. It also features a couplet by Dagh Dehlvi Sahab.

1 0@suprabh – probably ppl have listened to so many bastardized versions of this (like the one from namak halal) that they have become immune to real thing.
since i am familiar with the poetry already wat i find more fascinating is the visuals of a ‘party’ from a 60s (presumabley) pakistani film.

@ank – amitabh bachchan is my second favourite actor after dilip kumar (for his work till 1982 and k3g, baghbaan, aks) . and he did not write or compose that song so how is it his ‘peechha’?

as for ur confirmation abt the movie being pakistani – witha title on top, a mehndi hasan song and the dialogue the way they were written – i wud have guessed. u shud have known u are not dealing with some akshay fan but THE DANISH.
