Was Akshay’s OMG-OH MY GOD a better contender for Oscars?

OMG OH MY GOD! continues to do fantastic business and is now all set to cross the 75 crore mark, hence proving
to be a blockbuster at the box-office. Moreover the icing
on the cake has been the fantastic word of mouth and
audience appreciation that this Umesh Shukla directed
film has managed for itself. So much so that many from
within and outside the industry feel that if the film would have released a month ago, it could well have
been a strong contender as India’s nomination for Oscars.
How does the man at the hot seat, Akshay Kumar feel about that?
“Well, there have been some fabulous films with great
concepts and presentation which have been made. I am
happy though if people feel like that about our film.
However, every film comes with its own fate,” says
Akshay.
Despite Akshay as the producer of the film, he didn’t try
to hog the limelight and was seen in a very minimal
role. Guess those who have accused him of ensuring that
he gets maximum footage in his films would go quiet
now, especially with Paresh receiving all the accolades.
Smiles Akshay, “I do hope he leaves some awards for me. He is a thrilled man for sure. Just how thrilled is
something that you have to ask him.”
