Future To Bright Hai Ji 01 Movie Review: FUTURE TO BRIGHT HAI JI by FENIL SETA

Small-town residents with big dreams descending to Mumbai and facing hordes of struggles is a great recipe for a heartwarming, funny and touching film. Many memorable films have been based on this plot, from Raj Kapoor’s Shree 420 to Farhan Akhtar-starrer Luck By Chance and many more. Future To Bright Hai Ji is an addition to the long list of such films. The makers seemed clearly inspired from Hrishikesh Mukherjee brand of cinema and have done a decent job, but only at places. Overall, the execution, script and most importantly, humour is plain average.

The story of the movie: Ajay Kumar (Aamir Bashir) is an assistant writer of a daily soap and is married to Sonia Singh (Sonal Sehgal), a small-time television actress who plays the role of a character twice her actual age. Both are unhappy with the way their career is progressing and are also not content with their rented place. One fine day, they manage to meet a world renowned astrologer who predicts that their life is going to change in the next 7 days. The same day, Ajay meets Verma (Vipin Sharma), politician-turned-builder-turned-producer who assigns him the task of writing the script for a film that will launch his son. However, he is supposed to submit the script in a week or else… The next day, the loud-mouthed Sonal fights with their landlord and pressurizes Ajay to move to an upmarket housing society. While Ajay gets busy in adhering to his wife’s wishes, he doesn’t get time and chance to script for Varma. On the other hand, getting possession of their new house becomes problematic with each passing day. Will they come out of the mess soon? Will Ajay be able to script for Varma in time? Will their future indeed turn bright within 7 days?

Reema Kagti clears the air about Aamir Khan

October 31, 2012 | 15

Reema Kagti is super excited about her upcoming film ‘Talaash’ and claims to be fortunate to direct Aamir Khan.

In an exclusive conversation with TOI, Reema clears the air about her rift with Aamir. “There is absolutely no rift with Aamir. I have respect for the actor. To be honest, there is no problem. In fact, there might be something that didn’t work for them in the script and that’s ok with me,” said the director.

Aamir being Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood were there any kind of creative differences? “I never had those issues with Aamir and in fact, had greatest time working with him. He has helped me during the film and is very supportive and co operative. Today I think I have made the film that I had set out to make,” answered Reema.

Reema denies the reports doing round that Aamir was not the first choice to play Surjan Singh Shekhawat in ‘Talaash’. “There were lot of reports in media about actors, who were going to do the film, but the fact is that no one was supposed to play Aamir’s part,” asserted Reema.

Why Salman is the most decent human … and people call that other guy the “family guy”

Salman refuses to get intimate with Mrs Kareena Kapoor Khan?

Mumbai: He is called ‘Bhai’ for a reason. Superstar Salman Khan will soon be sharing screen space with the newly married Kareena Kapoor in a supposed raunchy item song called ‘Fevicol’ for Salman’s home production, ‘Dabangg 2’. But the actor doesn’t want to share any physical intimacy with Kareena.

Kareena is supposed to start shooting for the song from November 5 with Salman and the actor has apparently instructed choreographer Farah Khan to tone down the raunchiness of the song.

The protective actor has apparently stated that he does not wish to shoot something overtly raunchy with Bebo, whom he considers his kid sister. Salman is good friends with Kareena’s elder sister, Karisma for many years now and has always considered Kareena like his younger sister.

While most would thing that the no-intimacy clause would come from the newly married Mrs Khan, considering that she now belongs to a royal family, sources have revealed that there is no such restriction from The Pataudi family’s end.

Ajay Devgn donates KBC prize money to Being Human

October 31, 2012 | 2

Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan seem to have become great friends. It was only a while ago that Salman took time out from his busy Dabangg 2 schedule to shoot a song titled Po Po for Ajay’s upcoming film, Son Of Sardar (SOS).

Thrilled with the gesture, Ajay has now reciprocated it in a big way. The actor and his co-star Sonakshi Sinha recently shot for an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), and very generously donated their prize amount to Salman’s charity, Being Human.

KBC host Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog along with a picture of the episode: “And as you can see had the lead pair of Son of Sardar their latest film on release – Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha, who came over to play for Salman Khan’s charity Being Human at KBC and Sonakshi teaching us a few elementary dance moves from the film (sic).”

We’ve also heard that Salman was the one who made Ajay hear the song he’d shot for, a long time ago. So when the latter asked Sallu if he could use the song, he readily agreed. Reports also suggest that later, Ajay returned the favour by giving away Sonakshi’s dates for SOS promotions to Salman’s Dabangg 2 shooting.

Puducherry: A small scale industrialist in Puducherry was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly posting ‘offensive’ messages on the micro-blogging site Twitter targeting Union FinanceMinister P Chidambaram’s son Karti Chidambaram.

Police said that Ravi, the owner of aplastic packaging material factory, was arrested by the local crime branch wing of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Police on a recent complaint by Karti Chidambaram. The complaint said that the industrialist had posted “offensive” messages against Karti on three occasions since last year on Twitter.

Ravi was arrested under Section 66-A of the Information Technology Act.
The 45-year-old accused was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Venkatakrishnan by the police which wanted 15 days remand. However, the CJM granted bail to Ravi, since the offence was bailable.

The terrifying world of child brides: Devastating images show girls young enough to be in pre-school who are married off to older men

October 31, 2012 | 7

At age 11, Ghulam was married off to 40-year-old Jaiz in a rural Afghan village, making her only one of more than 10 million young girls who are being forced to wed men old enough to be their fathers or grandfather every year.
In an effort to start a global conversation about the devastating effects of early marriages, which are currently practiced in more than 50 developing countries, the United Nations designated October 11 as International Day of the Girl Child this year.
To mark the occasion and draw attention to the problem of child brides, photojournalist Stephanie Sinclair teamed up with National Geographic to create a series of heart-breaking photos depicting girls as young as five years old being married off to middle-aged men in countries like India, Yemen and Ethiopia.

SRK, Salman are massy & classy: Raj Nayak

October 31, 2012 | 3

Since its inception in 2008, Colors channel has provided path breaking and though provoking content. With a myriad of shows across fiction and non- fiction, there’s one person to thank for that- Raj Nayak, CEO (Colors).

With an expertise in TV ad sales, this 48 year old CEO has revolutionized the way audiences perceive content. Says Raj, “We are targeting the masses. There’s a lot of classiness in our shows. We’d think of a Salman Khan or Shahrukh Khan as the face of our channel because they represent mass with class”.

As the no.2 GEC across the nation, Colors has a wide reach with 150 million people in 162 countries glued to the channel. “We identify what content is on channel because people expect different kinds of things from us. We never stick to doing only one thing. Even in fiction for example, we have one show like Madhubala and one like Balika Vadhu. We have variety and we experiment with new formats. We have awards and then we have progressive shows like Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi”.

But after all, they are a GEC (General Entertainment Channel). “The whole idea is without tinkering the DNA of the channel, we focus on content keeping in mind what works. People have a perception that GECs should do only one kind of programme but this is a mind set problem. We have something like Yuvraj’s film called Picture Abhi Baaki Hain to a Femina Miss India (2013). I believe that a GEC channel is a wholesome, entertainment channel that should be educative and entertaining. We also have a social responsibility”.

Certainly not Sapna Bhavnani, the hairstylist whose cuss words aimed at the star sent the reality show’s producers scurrying for cover

Posted On Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 03:12:29 AM

Morning shows the day. And in the house of Bigg Boss, the opening night pretty much sets the tone of the rest of the reality show. Celebrity hairstylist, the much-tattooed and much-outspoken Sapna Bhavnani, had made it clear that unlike most of the inmates, she was not a Salman – baiter, but positioned herself firmly on the other side of the fence.

In her introductory episode she rattled off the names of her clients, and teased Salman whether he knew Katrina. But what was perhaps contained by decorum was a torrent over the weekend when the platinum blonde vented her feelings about the show’s ridiculously popular host. And none of it was flattering, to say the least.

A. Opening day and opening weekend it won’t due to the genre, length and competition but lifetime possibility is always there depending on content .

Q. Why do holidays make such a difference, there were holidays 5 and 10 years back also but many times the biggest hits did not come on holidays?
A. The business is much higher today and releases much wider. Ten years ago a holiday also added 30-50% on the day but this amounted to just 30-40 lakhs. today that 30-50% can be as much as 10-12 crore.
