Right films at the right time, why Ranbir Kapoor is a threat to the Khans


With some award winning performances to his credit, meaty endorsement deals and an impressive lineage of films for the following year, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is rocking at 30. Anurag Basu, Imtiaz Ali to Anurag Kashyap, the most talked about Bollywood directors at the moment are busy wooing Ranbir these days. They were also spotted at his birthday bash lately, Ranbir hosted for his ‘close’ friends. Ranbir will be seen playing the lead role in Kashyap’s ‘Bomaby Velvet’ and Basu’s film on the life of singer Kishore Kumar.

    jst bcos barfi is doing good doesn’t means he’s a threat to khans…doing one film a year will take a long time for him to make a pin hole in khan superstardom. btw what so fuss abt anurag kashyap, none of his films are clean hit.

    If he keeps doing movies like this, he will be a replacement to Naseeruddin Shah… And “Barfi” being inspiration has taken sheen off everything…. Fans will remain fans but it doesnt do anything for neutrals and non-fans….

    Real superstars do one film a year. In fact superstars like Aamir and Hritik do one film in perhaps two years. That shows your confidence and lack of insecurity. Also true measure of a superstar is the power to do film that you want to do, that’s when you rule, otherwise you area slave to the audience.

    Ranbir is forming his own niche market and his well wishers are increasing exponentially… There is no threat to any of four superstars at present i.e, Khans and Hr but sooner Ranbir may well get tagged along with these superstars which Akshay failed to accomplish.

    He has to do massy film if he has to expand his niche market to a larger General Market… Massy movie doesn’t need to be OTT or without any Original / Hatke (different) story but only thing he has to do is either build up some muscles or learn some Stunts as there is an already in-built Rockstar Attitude in this Upcoming Superstar.

    I agree on Ranbir and I feel he is slowly replacing Aamir from his position and is more of a threat to Hrithik . Ranbir is executing what Aamir tried when he touched 40 and what Hrithik is aspiring to be.

    Agree with Gollum. Ranbir to be a superstar like Salman, SRK or Akshay, will have to do a massy film. I think he is definitely capable and is also planning it.

    Yes I believe Ranbir could in next 4-5 years be at the very top. Massy or action film is what he is lacking but seeing his controlled anger in Raajneti I would’nt be surprised if he is able to pull of an action movie successfully. H e is managing to get near 100 crore with movies like Barfi which is magical. He is a rare combination of acting talent combined with superstar abilities. Next Aamir Khan.

    ppl are forgeting barfi success is all bcos of it’s content and not cos of it’s opening. if yeh jawani hai deewani failed to touch 10cr opening then he’s clearly behind emraan as far as stardom goes.

    hahaha threat to khans?
    If any of the three khans were to be in this movie with such good wom, them movie would have easily collected 160 crores.
    If scoring around 60-70% of what khans can do with the same movie is kicking them out, then yes ranbir is a threat to the khans.

    You mean he is ahead of Akki rite nw ?? Because jahah akki he vahah se amir dikhahi nahi dete.. Aamir is to ahead of akki.. If ranbir is replacing Aamir then akki to Bahutu piche rah Gaya
