Tell Me How Is This Calculation For ‘EK Tha Tiger’ Lifetime Collections?
good trending or bad, ek tha tiger is poised for a 30+ cr second week.
well not really. ek tha tiger second week is rs 45 cr (day 8-14). that too with just a regular weekend in between (however the placement of the ‘weekend’ was two days later than a usual weekend, i dont know if it hleps or harms collections. and it was very close – 5 days to the last holiday- eid) )
anyways – ETT day 1-7 was rs 130
that is still just 65% droop on a hugest possible base of 130 cr, with 2 extra national holidays, 3300 prints and everyone wanting to watch the salman film first day first show (has it ever happened after shenshah?)
but we are not discussing the ‘QUALITY’ of trending here, but the ‘PATTERN’ of trending.
take the case of bol bachchan.
it did roughly 65 cr in week one (day 1-7) ett did 130. which is double of bol bachchan.
bol bachchan did 22 cr in week 2 (day 8-14) ett did 45 (again double of bol bachchan)
bol bachchan did 9 cr in week 3 – so going by the fact that ett has settled in bol bachchan kind of trending with actuals exactly double of it – it may do 18 cr in week 3 (day 15-21)
bol bachcahn did 4.25 cr in week 4 – so ett can do 8.50 IN WEEK 4 (DAY 22-28)
Bol bachchan did 1.25 in week so ett can do 2.50 in week 5 (day 29-34)
and bol bachchan did 57 lakhs in week 6 – so ett can do 1.15 cr.
that makes it
1340+45+18+8.50+2.50+1.15 = over 205 cr.
so is 3 idiots breach still possible?
1. bol bachchan did ett kind of trending despite cocktail in week 2, ett managed it without competition. so trending may fall from 3rd week as compared to bol bachchan.
2. ett is facing competition with a less hyped joker but with a bigger star akshay in week 3. it may eat into weekend collections atleast. a film is ususally much weaker in 3rd week and compatition can really break its back.
3. bol bachchan had not exhausted it potential (average) clientelle (say 1 cr). in fact it did not exhaust ajay’s entire (average) ’clientelle’ of 1 cr even its life time. but ett seems to have exhausted salman’s (average) ‘clientelle’ of 2 cr already.
if it hasnt, then i have hopes.
wat say guys?
