Ek Tha Tiger on Tuesday is behaving very differently at centres across India. Where there is a heavy muslim population the film is holding up with unbelievable figures and in other places it is down heavily.
This can be illustrated with figures from two centres, Lucknow and Gurgaon, both are in North India, the latter being a multiplex heavy centre just outside Delhi and the former being Muslim dominated centre of UP. Both centres are amongst the the top ten grossing centres of India for Hindi films.
Below are the UNBELIEVABLE Tuesday figures from LUCKNOW with Monday figures in brackets.

I remember how they tried to project Bodyguard as something small last year and after its second day they were claiming all sorts of things. I don’t bother with there ratings or there biased commentary. I just await there nos as I find them most reliable.

I did not like ETT and if I don’t like a movie I have the right to bash it irrespective of who stars in it.
Observing a film’s trending has been my main interest on NG since the beginning and I will keep doing that. Ready trended very well and I was the first to acknowledge it even though I didn’t like the film. If ETT’s trending comes out well by the time it ends its theatrical run, I will again be the first to acknowledge it. However, according to my observation it is not trending well. I will not hide my observation out of fear that some Salman fans will start disliking me or will bash me.

It’s funny how everyone is going on and on about the ticket prices. Arre they still have to be bought, there not being handed out for free. Huge credit to Salman that after his 4th consecutive mega blockbuster Eid is now considered a major release date. This was NOT the case prior Wanted.

1 2Armaaz_a1, Okay. In case of 5-day or more weekends I take the first day collection as base and see how much it grows from there. Usually a film has a 5-day weekend so that its first day is a big holiday.
Ra.One had a 1st day of 15 cr but many Salman fans felt it was wrong to take that as base since the second day was bigger (1st being Diwali and collections being lower due to Lakshmi Puja). I also think that is reasonable so I take the 23 cr of 2nd day as base.
120 cr lifetime with a base of 23 cr means the film grew 5.2 times (23 x 5.2 = 120). This is FLOP trending.
Now for ETT – First day of 31.25 cr. With similar growth to Ra.One, it would be 31.25 x 5.2 = 162.5. This too is FLOP trending.
And lets keep in mind that with the ticket rate hike ETT had, say 15% on the lower end (since Ra.One had 3D tickets), Ra.One would have done 140 cr today. It would still have been a FLOP. Bodyguard had Average trending and it would have done 175-180 cr today.
To put things in perspective – 3 Idiots, with inflation adjustment and ETT’s rate hike, would have done around 300 cr today. I give this example only to show that 200 cr was no big deal for ETT but it is not even going to do 162 cr lifetime. This shows that its appreciation is similar to Ra.One.
