Gorilla’s WOM reality and BO Prediction for Ek Tha Tiger


Ek Tha Tiger, the movie, is getting positive WOM by and large. The WOM is definitely weaker than Dabangg but is stronger than Ready. WOM for Salman’s performance is at par with Bodyguard and lower than Dabangg.
WOM for Katrina’s performance is not so good as her performance is weaker than her last outing.

Overall ETT will maximize its returns on holidays but will not be able to show longer legs to break Rs 200 Cr nett landmark set by Aamir’s ATBB 3 Idiots.

However ETT will beat Salman’s previous Nett set by Bodyguard by 10 Cr

Over all Nett: Rs 150-160 Cr
Verdict: Blockbuster

    Top 30 highest first day collections – Salman regains the top spot once again

    As expected, Salman Khan has regained the top spot for the ‘First day’ collections. But what has shocked the trade is the margin by which his latest release has climbed back to the top.

    Ek Tha Tiger has raced ahead of Agneepath, with more than 45% collections. What that also means is, Salman Khan has more than DOUBLED the first day collections of Dabangg (14.45 crore), which released just 2 years back. It’s also 50% more than the opening day collections of Bodyguard (20.66) that released during the same time last year.
    The table below says it all – Khan reigns supreme once again, by some distance!

    First half is a bit slow, but man second half. what to say? It is just mindblowing.
    This movie has a repeat value.
    Salman fans will definitely wanna watch it again and again for the second half and the climax. ( I watched today and I m going on Saturday now)

    Even non salman fans should check it at least once for the brillian second half and the action sequences.

    wow some places have 50-60 percent advance booking for Thursday as well…I think ETT will be ATBB. It can even cross 200 crores

    dude some distributors are saying wom is mixed (slightly to positive side) but ETT will cross 100 crores in 4 days…

    Yes Agree, WOM overall will be on BG level and it will sustain decently but BO overall might come little higher may be 170 also, due to Monday plus bonus holiday.

    My pre release prediction was 160-165 cr.

    Akash,
    If top stars get a 6 days weekend for a largely accepted movie coming solo, this record will get eclipsed next month itself. I think Dabangg2 has a good chance.
    In terms of trending and overall collection SRK’s next and K786 may beat it…but definitely not the opening as they do not have an ideal long weekend release.

    haha FS…to each his own…i am talking about the potential…whether one film beats another in overall collection depends on its acceptability. I believe an equally accepted film having equal release timing and size will more or less gross the same.

      name few films of this year that you think are have potential to cross 32cr?

      I bet no other film including dabang 2 (obvious reason non holiday) will see this 32 cr historic figure this year.

      Many people claim many things and i want to hear from you so that during those release date i can recall your statements…

      32 cr is not halwa, just like 202cr and you talk as if it is nothing sort of normal show.

    Look Agneepath too opened on a national holiday and did very well. ETT has completely smashed it by making 11 cr more. Wait for Eid boss :D

    I think this will get very close to 3I. It’s a clean family film.
