Ek Tha Tiger First Seven Days Business Chart !!
This is not prediction, but just a calculation to see how much movie can collect with respect to current business scenario and occupancy levels. For reference ‘Three idiots’ data has been taken, it was released in 1150 cinemas(1500 screens) and collected around 78 Crore in first seven days(Inc Preview) with 74% average occupancy levels. Ek Tha Tiger will release in probably 3500 Screens. Let’s look at chart how much it can collect in first week with different occupancy levels.

Similar exercise was done once for Raavan in 2010 .. See Here. That calculation was based on 1250 Prints assumption, but movie was released on 790 Prints. Same is true for EK Tha Tiger, these calculations are based on 2600 cinema release count. It can vary if release on drastically different volume.

Single Day Maximum for such a release will probably will be 36-37 cr and probably little less after that (prices usually drop after few days….)

1 2Bodyguard was 2700 Screens on 1950 Cinemas. I am assuming 3500 Screens(3200 prints) for ETT, this will lead to 2527 Cinemas with straight calculation. You can round to 2500 or 2600 .. i took 2600 because it would be bigger single screen release.
But in any case this calculation is for 2600 Cinemas .. any up down of actual count can be calculated accordingly as i clearly written in post.

And as far as capacity is concern, i have written 7 days (weekly) capacity keeping 3 days weekend in mind. (50*3 + 45*4 = 330). This capacity is in synch with Raajneeti, Three Idiots and Raavan data as you can see in post above.

Both are in same ratio .. so even if i replace cinemas with screen counts, result would be same.

(99*120*1000)/(140*7*2600) = 4.66 crs
Actual was 3 crs, calculation seems a bit stretched but doesnt seem to be completely incorrect.

0 1If 30% would have been national average occupancy then result would be 4.6 Crore(based on what u assume above). When BOI says 100% opening .. it doesn’t mean 100% national average, they take selective cinemas, national average is obviously less.

the multiplex ticket prices at high end theaters remain (i can name them, all pvrs of mumbai and elhi, cineamax andheri, fame, fun, dt saket, dt vasant kunj) stuck at 350 rs average since 2009.
cinemax andheri east typees (the secnd rung of multiplexes) 150 weekend, 120 weekdays (zyaada bologe to tickets le kar scan karke post kar doonga. aur main nett par baith ke research nahin karta, maratha mandir tak ho aaya hoon ddlj ka fraud expose karne ke liye.
single screens and small time multiplexes are the only ones that have seen raises in the last 3 years and it cant be 20 rs per year as the tprices were around 40 rs average in 2009.
