News on Ek Tha Tiger – Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif

I don’t feel the pressure, says Salman Khan

After three back-to-back hits and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ releasing next week, Salman Khan is at the peak of his career in Bollywood but the actor says it is a dangerous place to be in as one does not know what to do next

“I am happy that my films are doing well. But it is a very dangerous position to be in, as we don’t know what to do in the next film. I don’t know what to do right now,” Salman said in an interview.

“If there is a larger than life character in films that I do, then it looks like no one can kill him which will get boring. If you take a film to a larger level then it is like too much is happening, if you don’t take it to that level then it feels like first was better. You don’t know what to do,” the actor said.

After three consecutive Eid blockbusters – ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Bodyguard’, the 46-year-old actor is now ready with yet another promising film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. Post his back-to-back hattrick with ‘Dabangg’ (Rs 215 crore), ‘Ready’ (Rs 180 crore) and ‘Bodyguard’ (Rs 230 crore), not only the audience but even the producers are pinning their hopes on Salman’s forthcoming film.

If there is any pressure of delivering another hit at the box office, Salman is not showing any signs of it. “I don’t feel the pressure…if it does not do well then it does not. We will see it in next film. If a film is good it will do well. If it is a bad film, it will bomb at box office. I believe audience is always right,” he said.

Talking about the trend of the Rs 100 crore bracket, the actor said, “The Rs 100 crore club is just a PR workshop. The person who has come to watch a good film, if he likes it he will come again either with family or friends.

“The number of times he watches the film is good for all of us, for the movie as a whole, the producers, theatre, exhibitors and artists,” he added.

The actor credits his success in films to luck. “I think I have been lucky to have got good films. It is the passion that keeps me going. I like my job and it has turned into my hobby and I enjoy doing it,” he said.

In his 24-year-old career in Bollywood, it is for the first time that he has teamed up with Yash Raj Films for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. On the association, Salman says, “There is right time for everything. And ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ came at right time and place. Why I took so long, it is like asking why you are born now, why not later on?” The story of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ lured Salman towards the film.

“It was the script that attracted me to do this film. The script, Kabir Khan as a director and Katrina Kaif in the main lead, title ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, then I play a RAW agent, Yash Raj production, all these things were enough for me to go ahead with the film,” he said. The film will hit theatres on August 15.

I’m not responsible for Katrina’s success: Salman

Not too long ago, Katrina Kaif had said that she doesn’t owe her success solely to Salman Khan. And the former beau of the beauty seems to be agreeing to her. Salman Khan said Katrina Kaif is what she is because of her hard work and that he doesn’t feel he has contributed any bit to Katrina’s success. However, the actress did admit that she credits Salman a lot for helping her evolve as a human being, Zee News reported.20120808 10 News on Ek Tha Tiger Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif spoke exclusively about their latest film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, slated to release on August 15.

On being asked about their pairing in the film, Katrina said that if the audiences like to see them play on screen lovers, then, “it’s a good thing for the film”. Katrina said that she has learnt a lot from Salman by observing him on the sets and calls him the “protector”.

The script of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ appealed to Salman Khan so much that he didn’t have to contemplate before signing the film. Salman, who is often called Katrina’s mentor, was modest enough to admit that many filmmakers who cast her in their films are equally responsible for Katrina’s success. daily times monitor

Salman brings keffiah & gamcha in vogue with EK THA TIGER

EK THA TIGER has Salman Khan sporting both the keffiah and the ubiquitous gamcha as a fashion statement to cultivate an image and accentuate it, as also trigger the nuance among the fans to follow it up by lapping it. To attain the objective, Ashley Rebello the dress designer for EK THA TIGER is travelling around the country side and positioning the keffiah as a necessary fashion accessory for the fashion conscious male in the country. Keffiah which conventionally used to be black and white check now comes in different colors and indeed has become a style statement in the men’s category and with Salman Khan pushing it in a big way through EK THA TIGER, it indeed is going to be a necessary fashion accessory this fall aka winter.

If one were to dwell in the history of Keffiah, the Palestinian leader Yaseer Arafat was one of the biggest promoters of Keffiah outside the gulf countries where it is a necessary accompaniment of male attire. But it did not gain currency probably owing to the fact that in Hindi cinema Keffiah when it was used earlier, it formed a part of the attire of the villain. It was Feroz Khan who brought it as a part of male attire through YALGAAR and later with WANTED, but Feroz Khan also could not push it may be owing to the fact that he did not had that kind of a legendary fan following that a Salman Khan has.

Salman Khan has however not been only promoting Keffiah through EK THA TIGER but is also seen sporting the ubiquitous gamcha as well, which became a new addition to the cinematic landscape through GANGS OF WASSEYPUR. But it was not for the first time that the humble gamcha was promoted as a fashion accessory, it was Big B who had used it with a flourish in BUNTY AUR BABLI where it was his leitmotif.

Ubiquitous gamcha was a part of the Hindi cinema landscape when the films had a rural setting, as gamcha still are an integral part of the attire in the country side. It indeed is a vital accompaniment in the rural India and it comes in all hues and colors and now that the urban India would also be sporting it with flourish after Salman starts pushing it, may be it would be a synthesis of fashion accessories of rural and urban India.
