Box Office Predictions of EK THA TIGER


At the very peak of his career, Salman Khan is nothing less than a hit machine. His film EK THA TIGER will hit the 100cr mark is an understatement. EK THA TIGER is expected to shatter all previous opening day record as it releases on holiday- Independence day (15th August). Along with Salman, there will be Katrina Kaif and Ranvir Shorey in the film. Directed by Kabir Khan (KAABUL EXPRESS, NEW YORK), the film is surely to be one of the biggest hit this year!

Opening Day (Wednesday)- 25.5cr

Thursday – 17cr

If word of mouth is Good,

Friday to Sunday- 59cr

First week (9 days)- 143cr

Lifetime- 195cr

If word of mouth is mixed,

    buxx is very low,i wont think it would do 25 cr the realistic number is 22 cr i think so,the buzz is not of even agneepath,which has highest first day collection,film should be good to touch 150 cr,my prediction for life time

    I feel we are overpredictong this time. Making 150+ crores is not as easy unless movie is good enough to have excellent repeat value. This looks like a fun entertaining film with doses of slick action, but nothing indicates it will be a great quality film that will be endorsed by all sections of the audience, especially families. My predictions:

    First day ~20 cr
    Ext 9 day week ~110 cr
    If repeat value is high:
    Second week ~40 cr
    Third week ~25 cr
    Fourth week ~18 cr
    Fifth week ~10 cr
    Rest ~10 cr
    Lifetime ~210-215 cr

    If repeat value is low:
    Second week ~25 cr
    Third week ~15 cr
    Rest ~10 cr
    Lifetime ~155 cr

    If movie has terrible WOM (unlikely, but not ruled just yet)
    Ext first week ~85 cr
    Second week ~20 cr
    Third week ~10 cr
    Rest ~5 cr
    Lifetime ~120 cr

    There is a chance the movie will wind up quickly like Bodyguard, if it’s terrible. It will still make profits in any case. Having said that, a more realistic figure is ~160-170 according to me. Will be awesome if it breaches the 200 cr barrier though. It’s about time. :)

    If a Agneepath can have 21.75cr first day, then ETT surely can have 25cr with huge ticket prices hike and almost 50% more shows than what Agneepath has.

    The ticket rates in my city multiplexes have gone 50% high. The most accessed theater in the city’s ticket prices for ETT have gone 60-65% high and also the number of shows are highest ever…25 shows! Bodyguard has 21-22 shows.

    No matter what the WOM, aint passing 3I.
    I can give that in writing.
    The max is 155-160 crores and the minimum is also around that.
    If it opens ultra huge, is going to fade faster. If opens more modest, will linger longer.
    Higher ticket prices can woek both ways.
    At the end of the day, the audience for this is huge BUT finite.

    dude if rajnikants enthiran can get the highest distributor share by releasing in tamil nadu only and getting dubbed in telugu and hindi, then y cant ett with mass messiah salman and most followed katrina thus much hype and coming from acclaimed kabir khan collect 235 crores, my predictions- wed to monday 125 crores,27+17+18+18+25+20. first week total 150 crores.second week 50 crores, total 200 crores,third week 20 crores, rest 15 crores, so total 235 crores distributor share 120 – 125 crores!

    well there too much hype in predicting the boxoffice fate of ETT, The fans excited and expecting huge number whereas haters just catalyzing on the situation and coming with too huge numbers (if it works they can claim that they predicted in advance and it if falls short then want to criticize on all the buzz phase it was going through)

    Being a Salman fan i would be happy ETT touching the milestone of 150 cr and anything above is always a big bonus and should really pip the 3 Idiots number and anything less than 150 is ofcourse dissapointment

    Being a ardent fan i would be still happy with 150 because lessons learnt from Ra-one and Bodyguard to some extent.
    In Ra-one case the expectation from SRK fan was sky high and they went in with big prediction in pre-release time
    Bodyguard after humongous first week collection, i believed movie would easily surpass 150 cr but got skimmed by 2nd week so playing safe for ETT
