Battle intensifies as Shahrukh and Ajay hold stand

Ever since Ajay Devgn has taken an early lead and unveiled the promo of ‘Son of Sardaar’, there has been immense speculation around the impending war between him and Shahrukh Khan.
With Yash Chopra’s untitled film also slated for Diwali release, the industry in general is worried about the impact that this clash may create. However if insiders are to be believed, one man who is keeping his calm amidst the entire mayhem is the one on the hot seat – Shahrukh Khan himself.
“He is staying quiet and you can well imagine that if someone like Shahrukh doesn’t utter a word for such a long time, there is something big that is definitely brewing”, says an insider, “He knows that despite all the brouhaha being created around the film’s release, his film would enjoy the best outing.
Forget about the fact that Yash Raj has possibly booked all theatres in advance and have an arrangement with the exhibitors. Despite all such logistics involved, there is a definite standing that films with him and Yash Chopra enjoy.

3 2Both movies are getting good pumping from these articles… but personally i think a big hoax is made out of a normal situation, 2 movies can easily exist in a 6 day extended Diwali weekend with multiple holidays and festivities and having next weekend free also…
Also given the fact that the movies are not out and out action, which depends more on the weekend…

0 2Superstar Sam, No, Joker has not been sold for just India @ 40 cr.
Its reportedly sold to UTV for 40 cr worldwide rights(India,Overseas,Satellite,Music,Video etc), then UTV might add another 10+ cr for P/P, but not very clear now… i still think total cost might touch even 55-60 cr , lets see.
Regardless , Joker will need like 75-80 + cr or so to be a hit, if its released more than 2000 prints then 40+ cr share is needed atleast.

So Just like Bol Bachchan , they are expecting 50+ cr share from India.

1 1Superstar Sam, all these struggle for screens is just a figment of imagination….Funny thing is this all only applies to Single screens, Multiplexes can easily run 2 movies at a time, infact they will be happy.
So Suddenly Single Screens space becomes important for a Classy NRI based SRK Romance ? SOS is also not that massy apart from North Angle.
Just think about how DB,BHTB,DD,Murder 2, Harry Potter,Singham and ZNMD release in just 1.5 month, back to back….
And here they cant release 2 movies for 16 day holiday window?
Both movies will get very wide release… YRF movie will get better single screens but thats about it.. in North SOS will also get good screens.. or both will be mixed..
YRF movie might get 2500 prints and SOS around 2200+ prints i guess.

4 1SRK movie will get bigger opening for sure but SOS may go to the 100cr no. Both movies can exist but they would not collect as they should have when released in differant weeks. Ajay is playing it safe and he has the advantage of tried and tasted story whereas SRK starrer is totally new and I just hope that SRK should not over-promote it. Let the film speak for itself just like Cocktail and even ETT has not even started promotions untill now.

5 10There is no competition at all. Looking at the present trends SRK/YRF will be a big flop. During Deepawali festival no one is interested in going for serious romantic movie. Every one need happy moments even if it is OTT but a comedy type of movie.

After supersuccess of BolBachchan Ajay devgan on roll.Eros Entertaiment distribute the movie in India as well as overseas.
The Good promo will help for attract exhibiters for screen space to SoS.
And about Srk’s Next the screen space will be less than ETT. -
