JOKER music review
Musically expectations from the 2nd directorial venture of Shirish Kunder are obviously quite high as his debut film JAAN E MANN had great music, though this time G.V Prakash the nephew of A.R rahman has replaced Anu malik as the music director and officially JOKER is his first Hindi film.
Lets see how the music has turned out to be,
KAAFIRAANA(I Want Fakht you) designed as an item number, impresses you from the word go with foot tapping beats and some amusing male vocals, Soon Sunidhi chauhan takes over and the rest is history, Kaafiraana is a sure CHARTBUSTER.
YEH JOKER sung by Sonu nigam sounds more like a situational Title song and may work well with the visuals, its neither a great number nor bad, just a decent one.
JUGNU sounds like a motivational song where Akshay is trying to motivate the villagers, the song is easy on the ears and Udit narayan’s singing is fresh as ever, the tune is similar to that of Ajnabi Shehar from JAAN E MANN but sadly the impact is no way close, mainly because the quality of lyrics from Shirish Kunder is not as good as Gulzaar’s, overall an okay song.
DANCE KARLE is the last song in the album and the undoubtedly the best as well, its a fast paced dance number and the energy of the song reminds you of ZOR KA JHATKA, though its a bit short in duration but that does not stop Daler Mehendi from delivering a CHARTBUSTER.
There is said to be a sad song in the album which has not been released and that may take the album a step higher, but considering these 4 songs its not some classic album but still a good one, infact much better than HOUSEFULL 2 the recent Akshay starrer and in comparision with JAAN E MANN, i would say its a few notches below that.
Overall decent album
Kaafiraana and Dance karle are my picks
