Bollywood at the Olympics
The Olympic Games 2012 has officially started and Bollywood is in attendance! Some stars have even received special invites to attend the Games.
Karan Johar, for example, recently received a special invitation from the British Tourist Authority to attend the event. He has apparently halted filming for his next film ‘Student of the Year’ to attend the games in London.
Another star who will be attending is Anil Kapoor. Kapoor was invited by Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle. Boyle is the director of the Olympics opening ceremony, and Anil will be his personal guest!
We’ve also heard unconfirmed rumblings of Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan attending the Games. Deepika, who’s always said that her first love is sports, will probably check out the Badminton matches. Wonder what the other stars fancy?!? But, of course, the biggest Bollywood news from the Olympics so far is that Amitabh Bachchan was given the honor of carrying the torch through London on the morning of June 26th, a day before the start of the games. He tweeted that it was “a proud moment for me and the country.” A proud moment, indeed!
