My predictions for Gangs of Wasseypur … and the results
Yes, the Hindi film is growing up. Films without big star heroes like Kahani and Vicky Donor are becoming superhits. Films like Shanghai and Ferrari Ka Safari are making more than films like Players and Tezz… big actioners with star directors and actors.
and here is my prediction” Gangs of Wasseypur will make more than Trri Meri Khnai. Nota bigger hit. I am talking of absolute numbers. Can you imagine that? A film with Manoj Bajpayee and no other star actor or actress is going to outgross a Shahid-Priynka starrer!
Yes it’s a great time to be in Hindi films.
This is what Sanket Porwal had said : ” Teri Meri Kahaani is an escapist cinema and will definitely end up doing better than GOW as far as numbers are concerned. But trending will clearly go in GOW’s favor.”
This is what Danish had said: ” the so called discerning viewer will have to learn to differentiate between a kahaani and a shanghai. a paan singhj tomar and a gangs of wasseypur (just guessing its bad, after all its from the director of no smoking and gulaal. ”

And the results?
At the end of 4 weeks, GOW: 27.27 cr, TMK: 27.49 cr. But GOW earning in 4th week: 62 lkhs, TMK: 4 lakhs. you can be sure , by next week GOW will cross TMK.

still till week 4 its a lil behind teri meri kahaani. it may cross it. but just about.
and there is nothing new abt the phenomenon.
successful parellel films have many times crossed flop commercial films. didnt bandit queen make more than ajay (sunny deol post ghatak and jeet) sapoot (aksjshay sunil post mohra etc) jaan (ajay devgan) army (sridevi and sharukh in spl appearnce) and many more?
u cant put down shahid on the basis of this post, if that is the intention. rejoice the day a manoj bapayi film crosses inflation adjusted vivaah.

But no one believed that a film like GOW can even ‘ just about’ cross a Shahid-Priyanka-Kunal Kohli film, however bad about it maybe.
At least I did not see anybody dittoing my post.
And when did I say that GoW will cross TMK by miles?
And for the record there was no attempt to put down actors like Shahid, only films like TMK.

i can bet on this one that it wil do 100 crores for sure..and first day or weekend dosent matter for this movie.if first day comes around 9 crors.still it wil do 100 crores.mark my words and save my comment
