Ek Tha Tiger Music Review (Sohail Sen, Sajid-Wajid)

from happysing.com

Should I start with Mashallah? Well, I think there is enough said about the song, and then everyone seems to have heard it, so let’s just say the song is probably going to be the weaker part of the album. Or maybe I can say the weakest, if Salman Bhai’s fans allow me to. Not because he’s wrong anywhere, cuz Sajid-Wajid HAVE given some good songs for him. How can I ever forget the small preview of Tere Mast Mast Do Nain I heard at IIFA. That number within seconds told us what a hit it was going to be. But then, this time they seem to have got it wrong. Not too wrong, but not as right as it has been earlier.

And I wrote again so much about that song. OK, leave that one. Let’s see others.

Sohail Sen’s part of the album begins with a KK song and the duo seem to maintain the rapport shared in their last album, Mere Brother ki Dulhan. KK here again plays the fast track, and sings a full fledged commercial number for Salman, this time with Shreya Ghoshal. The song, though not extraordinary as such, has a nice melody and the ‘main laapata‘ part is catchy as well. So be ready to hear many fans singing this one, and in due time, some non-fans too.

The next song of the album, Banjaara, is sung by Sukhwinder Singh. And will definitely be pictured on Salman Khan. That actually tells you a lot about the song. Let me spell it out a little more clearly. The song is full of energy, so much so that without even watching it, one can see Salman Khan dancing to the tune with full energy. This one is a hit.

Teri Meri Meri Teri Prem Kahani hai Naadan Parindey. Saiyyara Main Saiyaara. OK leave the name. Let’s just say there is a sad song sung by Mohit Chauhan for Salman Khan. Can there be a thing deadlier than this as of today? OK I may again be overselling it, but I would at least say that Saiyaara is the best song of the album. The song has a superb melody, touching lyrics, the singer is superb, so is the singing. The orchestration is simple and beautiful. One cannot doubt about the presence of Salman Khan in the song. Basically there isn’t a thing that would leave me in doubt about the song, it just is going to be one of the best this year. The only minor hitch is that the lyrics of the song make me feel that the movie ‘may’ have a sad ending. Hope that isn’t the case. I want the Tiger to remain there.

But other than that, this Tiger is going to rock. As per the rumors, Salman may not be too happy about Sohail doing the score for the movie, but the result has come out really well, and Sajid-Wajid’s song turns out the not-so-good piece of the album. As for Sohail’s part, I’d just say, Mashallah.

@mods – i hope strike is a legal tool in the autocratic world of NG.

Danish – I have supported you whenever you are right and bashed your posts when ever they are contaminated with explicite language directed towards a particular actor. I am not like others who being a salman fan praise you on NG and bash you at SB or any other forum. I have been vocal about your many WTF posts and also about your knowledged about movies and especially your wit and sense of humour.

    Mods,

I am not against bans, infact I was one of the members who appreciated this cleaning up act.
What irked me is life time ban on members if it was actually exercised, which I consider too much on a blogging site.
Anyways, , it is up to owner and mods to decide, I raised my point being a member.

@mods THIS IS THE Nth TIME I AM ASKING

kindly clear that if Aryan got Banned for comments in arguments with manish and nawaab who were making far more worse comments getting personal and manish even used abusive word like lauda in their comments and nawaab making many personal comments against me and aryan.

then why the ban was only against aryan29 ?

Also what about my posting rights not visible??

times of india review of ett music.

    Music Directors: Sohail Sen, Sajid-Wajid
Lyricist: Kausar Munir-Neelesh Misra, Anvitta Dutta
Singers: Wajid, Shreya Ghoshal, Sukhwinder Singh, Mohit Chuahan, Taraannum Malik
    Rating: ****

Kabir Khan’s directorial venture for YRF, Ek Tha Tiger starring Salman Khan and Katrina in the lead, is the most awaited film of 2012. The film is already creating frenzy and promises to be entertaining considering its got Salman Khan. Katrina adds the oomph factor. Kabir Khan has roped in Sohail Sen and Sajid Wajid to ensure the music becomes the face of the film, at least for starters!

Technically the album has eight songs, three of which are remixes of the original. And Sajid-Wajid as guest composers seem to be Salman’s favourite (Dabangg-co composers, Veer, Wanted) and they’ve created a popular track that will stay with Salman fans for long. They have ensured a hit with the opening track of the album, Mashallah sung by Wajid and Shreya Ghoshal. Shreya Ghoshal is the surprise factor here as she discards her sweet voice and replaces it with a sensual tone. Mashallah has a heavy middle eastern-Arabic influence. This song is exotic with Arabic words like habibi being injected throughout. The feel, sound and look of the song makes it catchy instantly! With Katrina’s moves and Salman’s typical dance style, this one is and will be the biggest hit of the album. The remix version for a change is equally good.

Laapata is up next and a KK and Palak Muchhal’s voice pitied against one another creates quite combustion! Sohail Sen takes on as music director from here and he continues the magic. This Latin inspired song gives the album that extra edge, making it more universal in its appeal. The remix version of Laapata is so good. It’s got a techno feel and is much faster in pace. It’s a sure on party number that should be dished out at nightclubs.

Banjaara follows next and it’s a welcoming change to hear Sukhwinder Singh’s high pitch voice crooning to Neelesh Mishra’s lyrics. He’s magical with his voice making Banjaara a fast paced song that has an Irish influence to it. However, the remix version could have completely been skipped.

How can an album be complete without Mohit Chauhan singing and his song Saiyaara comes up next o the album. This is comparatively a slower song but that’s why listeners love Mohit Chauhan because the singer has such a melodious voice and he does full justice to slow paced songs! Saiyaara is very Indian in sound and Kausir Munir’s lyrics are fabulous, making him a lyricist to reckon with.

Tiger’s Theme follows Saiyaara and is the next best after Mashallah. Composed by Julius Packiam, Tiger’s Theme is more of a techno track that has only beats and a haunting sound which seems to heighten the mood of the film.

Verdict: A good effort by Sohail Sen and Sajid-Wajid because the album is fresh and sounds new, where the music composers have made an attempt to incorporate world sounds. The music is so different from Kabir Khan’s earlier films like Kabul Express and New York which makes the music of Ek Tha Tiger a welcome surprise!

    rafee,

    2 Things:

    1) No admin is answerable to any of the member. When members misbehave and dishonor the admins’s request, the admins can do the same with your questions too. So its no point asking n or n+1th time.

    2) Dont think, that all those are banned are mentioned on NG by mod. Sometimes they are notified individually.. Just out of curiosity did you see nawaab sahab commenting for many days?
If Manish used Lauda, then Danish used gaandu– should we ban him too? The point was both of them used in a non abusive way but still were warned not to use it again.

Danish didn’t add ‘u’ after four letters. Kyun bechare ko khamakhan fasaa rahe ho?

@mods to answer your first question yes i have seen nawaab regularly commenting in Ng even after making many personal comments .you can confirm it by checking his comments in dashboard.

and my question was very simple that if aryan29 was banned for the comments then manish pr nawaab were not any different infact their comments were far more worse.

so why only aryan29 was banned?

i dont think you have any genuine answer for this.

    clear biasedness.k

@Fs – achchha aisa bhi hota hai? ppl praise u at ng and bash u at SB. HEY BHAGWAN YE DIRTY POLITICS!

@neveed – itna serious response! this thread has become so serious and non fun becoz of looming presence of the mods. i hoep they dont do the same to NG overall.

@RJ – tumne mujhe wicked bol! ab dekh tu! main kaise tera badla aamir khan ko gaaliyaan de kar leta haoon. and mods please ban RJ ussne mujhe wicked bola. aur waise bhi salman fans ko ban karne ka to trend chal hi raha hai. aur ye kambakht to saath mein uss pseudo-intellectual aamir ka bhi fan hai. isse to jaldi ban karo.

@mods – though i am against any kind of banning, i wonder if the bans are auto generated the moment someone abuses someone else or they come in effect only after members complain. becoz i never complain abt someone and demand bans but if they were auto generated then online munde, nawaab, manish etc wud have been banned for lifetime as they never start a comment without calling me an idiot. not that i want them banned though.

and nth 1th nahin hota, agar bolna bhi hai to nth + 1st bolo.

and as Fs pointed out, i did not use ‘u’. mujhe phansaane ki saazish ho rahi hai. and in any case iw as refrerring to sharukh’s khan’s face that resembled like an ass’s poeterior (uff ye victorian languageuse karni padegi ab) and wasnt referring to any member. i dont know in wat context manish used lauxxa’

by the way mujhe kabhi kabhi warn karte raha karo. i like controversies. news mein bane rehte hain.
