Bol Bachchan first weekend Territorial Breakdown


Bol Bachchan has collected 38 crore nett approx in its first weekend. The weekend territorial breakdown is as follows. It is the fourth biggest weekend of 2012 after Rowdy Rathore, Agneepath and Housefull 2.

Mumbai – 14.95 crore : 39.5 %

Delhi/UP – 7.36 crore: 19.5%

East Punjab – 2.99 crore: 8%

West Bengal – 1.38 crore: 3%

Bihar – 82 lakhs: 2%

Assam/Orissa – 42 lakhs: 1%

CP Berar – 2.09 crore: 5%

CI – 1.80 crore: 4.5%

Rajasthan – 2.61 crore: 7%

Nizam – 1.66 crore: 4.5%

Mysore – 1.47 crore: 4%

Tamil Nadu/Kerala – 48 lakhs: 1%

TOTAL – 38.03 crore

    So next time someone says x, y or z film is not doing well in Bihar or a, b, c film is doing extraordinary business in Bihar, my response: Please roll up that information and smoke it , because you are talking of a territory that contributes 1 % to the total kitty. If you want to talk about collections in Bihar you might as well talk about collections in Mizoram. It is Mumbai _+ Delhi that make up 60% of the business and these are the territories that BoI should report first rather than Bihar or CI.

    Then why not talk about collections in Orissa and Assam? After all they contribute 1%. To be reported it has to have some weight, right? Surely give Bihar collections when you are giving the entire collection. but pl dont highlight it, because it is not that important.

    bihar ci berar are hindi belts ..orrisa assam are not…and for a hindi movie these belts matter…as manish has rightly said 1 MP tkt = 10-15 SS viewer …

        Taran is also claiming the opening weekend to be 43 cr as against BOI’s 38 cr :D

        Anyway, we will know tomorrow whether the film falls or sustains.

          yup .. taran se bade hai shalu , ETC used the producer’s figures /taran’s figures for Bol bachan and used BOI figures for agneepath , RR and HF 2 to show it in top -3 of this year ;) :D

            Nope the colection of taran & boi wil never match… Earlier it was arnd 2% diff b/w boi & taran but nw it is arnd 10% for every movie..

    Ticket Prices of Indian Cinema are like Bihar Tickets compared to Avatar Ticket prices.

    A site on box office of Hollywood films, and reporting on say, avatar, will not bother to quote Indian figures, because they are insignificant in the total mix. so too is Bihar in the total mix of Hindi films.

      But of course avatar clctn wil include even frm small area of usa as its domestic bo & it matters alot…

    dr nick taran say 140cr fr boi 131 cr so u say boi under reporting rr .hf2 as per boi 113 taran say 118 so u say boi under reporting hf2.on the whole taran alwys paid by producers that’s why he give higher numbers,but boi is most the acurate site as per no is concern.so 57-58 first week lifetime 85-90

    BOI is obviously on a sticky wicket here and their partial commentary underlines how corrupt their reporting is.
    Obviously interested parties and those inconvinienced by BB and Abhishek’s success will try and use their numbers and their commentary to save their lying faces but sane people know the truth and this commentary and reporting by BOI is really a piss in the wind.Abhi has emerged victorious here and no amount of verbal gymnastics and statistical thievery by the likes of BOI really matters in public perception of how big BB is and who deserves a lion’s share of the credit.

    Experience. I have been following BO for more than 3 yrs.

    All trade analyst (Taran/ Komal/others) dish out higher numbers in begining and then final tally match with what BOI has.

    Take any movie …. Ra1, Don2, Agneepath, RR, BG. Singham …. This is irrespective of star in the movie.

    I just hope Bol Bachchan collects 6.5 today! Rest doesn’t matters. Then 60cr first week. COCKTAIL will eat all the multiplex business of Bol Bachchan. But single screens should hold well. 100 is definitely not going to be touched.

    After doing a whopping 43 Crores of business Rohit Shetty’s Bol Bachchan is still restless on Box office India, as the collections remain almost steady on Monday.

    Bol Bachchan also done superb raise in Weekend box office collection, as it increased form 12.1 to 17 Crores on Sunday due to holiday. We expected Bol Bachachan to drop by aost 50% on Monday.

    Bol Bachachan Fourth Day Collection (Monday)

    Let me break down Box office collection of the First three days including total first weekend collection -

    Friday – 12 Crores

    Saturday – 12.30 Crores

    Sunday – 17 Crores

    Total Box Office Collection on First Weekend – Approx 43 Crores in India.

    On Fourth Day (Monday) Bol Bachchan has collected approximately 10+Crores, which is pretty impressive compared to any movie released this year in Bollywood. As most movies collection drop below 50% of the weekend, Bol Bachachan is keeping its revenue steady till now.

    So Now total box office collection of Bol Bachchan is 53 Crores and heading rapidly towards the 100 Crores of collection mark. And as we know it is more important for any movie to keep its collection consistent to let it become blockbuster, Bol Bachchan will definitely be on top of this list right now!

    ?#BolBachchan? showed upward trend at multiplexes on Sat and reached the optimum level on Sun. Growth on Sun was 35% – 50% over Fri numbers.

    How does 41.3cr approximates to 43 cr?? At best it can be approx to 42cr.

    3 days the total is off by whopping 5cr.

    4th day(Monday) is 10cr as per this source …. while the actual is 6cr

    4 days total is off by whopping 9 cr ….. probably by end of its run they will have BB crossing the total of 3I .. :P … EPIC
