Bollywood posters get a digital makeover

Bollywood posters get a digital makeover

Aamir Khan would do the cop act again in Talaash after Sarfarosh.

The old-fashioned Bollywood movie posters have just pushed the envelope and moved into a digital space. It all started with Ek Tha Tiger, that came up with the first-ever digital poster. “All his life, he fought for his country, this time he’ll fight for his love,” the tagline said,

introducing Salman Khan, the Tiger.

Talaash’s digital poster came out soon after.

“All of us, including Aamir, believe it’s a very interesting digital poster. And since it’s an innovative campaign, it will be tracked immensely (by fans),” said co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment.

Motion posters have slowly, but steadily become the latest trend in movie promotion. A traditional poster that never moved out of its boundary, is reborn in a digital avatar, which has made promoting films online more fashionable.

Here’s a look at digital posters that stood out:

Ek Tha Tiger: So far, three motion posters of the film have hit the web. While the first one introduces Salman’s character, the second one features Katrina. The most recent one has both Salman and Katrina.
