Ayushmann Khurana, Kunal Roy Kapoor in Sippy’s next film


Actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunal Roy Kapoor will team up for Rohan Sippy’s untitled comedy film in which Abhishek Bachchan will do a cameo.

The untitled venture will bring together Ayushmann of ‘Vicky Donor’ fame and Kunal Roy Kapoor who became popular with ‘Delhi Belly’. The film is a buddy-comedy.

“I realised that Kunal has great potential as an actor and that’s why we got him onboard. Ayushmann and Kunal are new age actors who have definite connect with today’s audience,” filmmaker Rohan Sippy said in a statement here.

Sippy, who last directed ‘Dum Maro Dum’, is geared up to commence shooting of the film from this month.

For the first time Rohan would not have Abhishek Bachchan as the lead face for his film unlike his previous directorial ventures like ‘Bluffmaster’, ‘Kuch Naa Kaho’ and ‘Dum Maro Dum’.

Abhishek had loved the script but has other work commitments and so he will be appearing in a cameo role, Sippy said.

“He is my good luck charm. He is doing a cameo role. We are trying to shoot before he starts shooting for his upcoming action film,” Rohan said.

The film will be presented by T-Series and Ramesh Sippy Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

    really sad to see abhishek not accepting sippy’s movie.. he clearly is looking for more commercial viable projects,but his script sense in commercial movies are pathetic.. The likes of players and bol bachchan wont help him anyway..
    liked both bluff master and dum maro dum ,quite a bit.. wold have been great if abhishek was in it..

    just watched abhishek -ajay in anupama chopra’s front row.. quite surprised to know that ajay is one of the producer for bol bachchan . despite being a much bigger star and producer of the movie, he still let some one like abhishek to steal the lime light , shows how much close abhishek is to ajay.. i presume itz due to the abhishek’s affable off screen behaviour which gets him into big projects despite his movies being failed badly at box office..

    Lol Tony finding excuses as to why abhishek gets movies. Is the bachchan tag not enough? And especially when Bachchan is a part of the title :)

    LOL RJ.. so abhishek is in the movie coz rohit and ajay planned to make a movie named bol bachchan .. Cant they find any other name,Why a superstar like ajay decided to have an equal screen space as “disaster star ” abhishek,..

    Im surethat you havent seen any interviews of abhishek but having followed him closely for past 5 years,i find his off screen behaviour very charming..

    @Rockie.. So bachchan tag still has so much weight carrying over,im surprised you are saying this .. :P .. Im a huge bachchan fan ,but give me 40 cr and ask me to produce a movie ,abhishek is my last option.. Seriously no one’s such a stupid to lose crores coz abhishek has bachchan as his surname that too at this point..

    @tony: Yes mann I agree .. .Ajay and Rohit are stupid atleast for this instance …or maybe they were quite over confident this time.

    Dnt take public for granted … lesson for Ajay – Rohit …

    Promos are out and below avg to bad ..
    Songs are plain bad ..

    Hopefully the movie will be decent … :(

    @rockie.. need a honest answer.. u are skeptical about this movie coz u found promos and songs bad or coz of the fact that it stars abhishek,.. Haven u been okay with the movie if there was some other actor instead of abhishek..

    @tony: Actually its a mix of both …

    1) Promos are bad … but Abhishek’s presence takes them to a new low. And I am not saying its his fault, but the way he is presented esp the gay character.

    2) BTW I did like promos of DMD and even Players compared to this.

    3) I am saying Rohit-Ajay probably are over confident this time or maybe Rohit was disinterested in this movie as he was busy working on script of Chennai Exp.

    In any case I will be watching this first weekend in theatre. Hopefully the movie is good.

    Also I am extremely disappointed by Krishna from comedy circus. He was my fav character in comedy circus and I have seen his comic scenes in this movie .. from whatever I have seen he has been a major let down.

    Again the blame goes to Rohit Shetty.

    Thnx for the honest answer, I cant bear the loudness and hamming that goes into rohit shetty movies and this bol bachchan seems to be no different.

    Before watching the trailer i thought abhishek might come good as i find his comic timing impeccable ,but was quite disappointed to see him hamming like the rest of actors in rohith shetty movies..
