My views on Ek Tha Tiger promo; The Amazing Spider-Man & the Hindi releases
SPIDER-MAN IS BACK!
It’s really strange even for me talking about a Hollywood film so prominently in my ‘Bollywood Talk’. But then, that’s what Spider-Man means to me. I was never fascinated by any superhero in my childhood except Spider-Man. Somehow, I found his powers and his backstory fascinating. That’s the reason I immediately ventured to see Spider-Man the movie that released in summer 2002. The film rocked and so did part 2 and 3. I was slightly dejected with the news that Spider-Man 4 has been shelved and that a new series on Spider-Man will start from scratch. Moreover, Toby Maguire not playing the protagonist too was sad news because he had in a way become synonymous with Spider-Man.
However, my views changed the minute I saw the promos of The Amazing Spider-Man. The film looks great and even better than the previous versions! The VFX will be a treat to witness on the big screen. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans and also features Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan in a short but significant role. Irrfan in fact is trying his best not to hype up his contribution to the movie, knowing the bad response generated by Anil Kapoor’s cameo in MI4.
The Amazing Spider-Man releases tomorrow in India, a week before UK/US release. The excitement is immense and is sure to take an earth-shattering opening! Book your tickets soon!

Besides The Amazing Spider-Man, there are 4 Hindi releases tomorrow. My take:
MAXIMUM: Starring Sonu Sood, Naseeruddin Shah and Neha Dhupia, this isn’t cop v/s gangster drama but instead cop v/s cop drama! There’s negligible hype and film will suffer, although it might be well-made.
DAAL MEIN KUCH KAALA HAI!: The film marks the debut of Veena Malik as a leading lady in Bollywood!
3 BACHELORS: A decade-old film starring Sharman Joshi, Riya Sen and Raima Sen.
SUPERMEN OF MALEGAON: The lead actor is no more and the film took years to hit screens. Releasing on a small scale, Supermen Of Malegaon, according to reviews, is funny and a movie to watch out for!
