@tine – u will have to promise me that you wont boycott me permanently for adverse comments like shalu didi has done. but since u have used the word ‘best’ instead of ‘my favourtes’ i will have to respond. halaanki ladkyon se mujhe darr lagta hai.

1. u think dharmendra and hema malini did not do many films together? well u have another think coming.

between ‘tum haseen main jawaan’ (1970) and jaan hatheli pe (1987) dharmendra and hema malini did 27 films, the maximum any couple has done in the history of bollywood, or world cinema for that matter. u will be further surprised to know that 20 of those 27 films were huge hits. 2. for u RK and nargis cud mean ranbeer kapoor and nargis fakhri of the ‘rockstar’ ‘mixed response fame’ but originally it meants raj kapoor (ranbeer’s grandfather) and nargis hussein (sanjay dutt’s mom) who have sucj blockbuster hits as aag, barsaat, aawaara, shri 420, and many more to their fame. easily the second ‘best jodi’ of bollywood.

3. dilip kumar and vyjyanti mala were another jodi that had almost as many hits as raj – nargis and of equal magnitude. dilip kumar also made successful jodis with nargis, madhubala, waheeda rehman, meena kumari and saira banu and had more hits with each of them than all the couples you have put together in the list.

but since u are talking abt the newer stars i will just make one more point abt yesteryear stars and them come to newer stars. many cud be forgiven for thinking that amitabh rekha were a great jodi but the truth is they didnt have any major hits together. in their biggest hit muqaddar ka sikandar rekha had an extended special appearence and rakhi was the main heroine. amitabh had more and bigger hist with her, hema malini, zeenat amaan and parveen babi.

as for current stars, srk – kajol had 5 succesfull films, including two huge hits. saif kareena are a flop jodi and shahid – priyanka have just a semi hit ‘kaminey’ to their credit. its very clear that audience dont love them together. so i dont kow wat u mean wen you say stuff like “we love”. shahid amrita is a much more accepte jodi than shahid priyanka.

sorry i had to pint it out as you clearly said that you are deciding the best jodi on the basis of on-screen chemistry.

the biggest on screen jodi from the current stars wud be

srk-kajol
akshay-katrina
aamir-juhi (though juhi and kajol are out)
shahid – amrita
hrithik – ash (jodha akbar and dhoom 2)

as for salman khan, just like he doesnt need any big banners, directors etc, he doesnt even need a heroine and can deliver huge hits with ayesha takia, lara dutta and rank newcomers like sonakshi.
