I am starting a new series today on NG, wherein I will include my top 5 Indian music videos (from films or otherwise). Each post will be based on a certain topic and the videos will be my favorites based on how much effective the videos are related to the topic.
The inaugural topic for today is Top 5 sensuous music videos.
Here we go
Mujhko neend aa rahi hai – Ajnabee
Salman Khan will turn Santa this Christmas with Dabangg 2. The schedule of the sequel to the 2010 film flagged off on March 9 and is being shot on a huge set that recreates Kanpur at Mumbai’s Kamal Amrohi Studio. “It’s going well,” says the superstar who recently shot a qawwali with Sonakshi Sinha for Arbaaz’s directorial debut.
Next, he’ll flag off a film with brother Sohail, before starting work on Sajid Nadidawala’s Kick. “Sohail’s film is not Sher Khan. We will make that later. It’s ambitious and there’s too much of ‘tam jham’ (complications). This is a different script,” he says, refusing to divulge more details. “You have to see it.”
He also intends to return to TV and Bigg Boss, but doesn’t know when the next season will go on air: “Soon, I hope. I like people watching me for free.” Meanwhile, he’s decided to take a break that could range from a week to a month, between projects. Also, he wants to devote more time to raising funds for his charity, Being Human. Continue reading
There are very good expectations from the music of Jannat 2. To state the obvious, a Bhatt film is bound to boast of good music and with Emraan Hashmi as the central protagonist, anything less than very good would be sacrilege. With Pritam joining the show, expectations turn even bigger. Not to mention the fact that it is the same team along with Kunal Deshmukh that had created a magical soundtrack in Jannat. With Sayeed Qadri, Sanjay Masoomm and Mayur Puri contributing with lyrics, you know for sure that Jannat 2 music cannot go wrong by any means. As it turns out, the music indeed impresses, and how.
First thing that catches your attention is the fact that just like Kunal’s last film Tum Miley (for which Pritam had composed music), even Jannat 2 doesn’t feature a single female voice. Call it a conscious decision or a coincidence but one does wonder whether makers never felt the need to bring in a girl into the equation as well, given the fact that a love story forms an integral part of the film. Nevertheless, as one plays on the album, any such doubts disappear since the male singers manage to hold the attention of a listener quite well and ensure that you play on the album repeatedly.
Shafqat Amanat Ali begins the proceedings with a love song, ‘Tu Hi Mera‘, which is just the kind of template romantic number that one expects at the top of an Emraan Hashmi music album. Beautifully sung and composed with some simple yet effective lyrics by Sayeed Qadri, ‘Tu Hi Mera‘ with a ‘Sufi’ touch to it is instantly catchy and boasts of some good ‘antara’ portions as well after an impressive ‘mukhda’. A melodious kick-start like this pretty much sets the tone for the album that only goes on to present many more immensely likeable tunes. Continue reading
Though hf 2 had some good doses of action sequences but it was an out an out comedy, looking at his next releases this year, he has Rowdy Rathore (action masala), Joker (fantasy adventure), Khiladi 786 (action-comedy), and if S26 release this year then its an out an out serious drama. Even looking at his line up for next year he has OUATIM2 (gangster film), murgodoss’s film and can’t remember the rest. So it looks like he won’t have an out an out comedy.
The ship of dreams. The unsinkable diamond. The resplendent wonder. An array of names have described the RMS Titanic, one of the world’s earliest engineering challenges and a true modern wonder of the early 1900s. With a full capacity of over 3,500 passengers and over 1,000 crew men, the Titanic was easily the largest ship on the seas at that time, and even today takes top spot as the most luxurious and splendor-filled ship of all times. Built by the White Star Line, which had envisioned the Titanic as the “last word on luxury”, the ship took over four years of non-stop toil to construct and set new records for construction size.
The expense of the Titanic is absolutely staggering. Adjusted for inflation, the ship would have required tens of billions of dollars to construct, and no points for guessing that advancements in technology would push up costs even further. Designed by Harland and Wolff’s Thomas Andrews, the Titanic was actually a commercial war: basically built to put the White Star Line back into the top of the game, after increasing losses to Cunard. The ship’s construction faced a number of delays and witnessed many unfortunate deaths of workers, who dubbed the Titanic as “the black death”.Continue reading
So with BOI declaring HOUSEFULL 2 a big winner its a hatrick of hits for Akki-Sajid and Sajid also becomes the only director after Raju Hirani to have 3 Hits out of 3.
Now the coincidence is, Around 5 years back in 2006 when Akki was having a great run 4 hits in two years GARAM MASALA,WAQT,PHIR HERA PHERI and BHAGAM BHAG, i came across a thread on NG that said Akshay cant be considered as big as SRK unless he gives a 50 cr HIT as those days it was the trend of 50 cr grossers just like these days its 100 cr.Then came NL another HIT which dint do 50 cr but just after few months AKKI managed to give a 50 cr film which was HEY BABY by SAJID KHAN which was followed by another 50 cr earner BHOOL BHULAIYA.
Now when AKKI was having a bad run and many even said he can never have a 100 cr grosser, came HF2 by SAJID KHAN which is set to do that and after a month AKKI has ROWDY RATHORE:)
will the history repeat itself:) only time will tell but so far whatta coincidence.
